This is only my second time commenting on the C-19 thread but what gets me is the sheer effort that anti-mask/vaccine people put into being outraged. Cornonavirus vaccine hesitancy is one thing but treating a simple face covering like the Star of David is another. This past year a former work colleague (a completely normal and decent person) got caught up in the conspiracy stuff coming from other people at work and for a while it was just difficult trying to figure out why the they left all reasoning at the door before posting absolute rubbish on Facebook. And random rubbish too. One conspiracy post would be at odds with the other.
I know they and others are all now waiting for the 22nd and for everything to implode. I'd tried briefly to ask a few simple questions but no...It's all Bill Gates/5G and killer vaccines now and it's really sad. This is their life now. And I know how it goes...when what they expect doesn't happen they'll just double down and latch on to another theory that hasn't yet been disproved. Wasting their time and energy.
You're unvaccinated so you're counted in this group (and given you're both anti-vaccine and anti-mask you're probably not in any way able to make an assessment if you are vulnerable or not), you're contributing to the need to keep wearing masks but are also anti-mask, you getting vaccinated (along with all the other anti-vaxxers) let's us stop using masks sooner.

In Italy people won't be able to work without a so-called green pass. Won't be able to take part in society in Melbourne unless vaccinated. Have to get tested or be vaccinated to do most things in Germany. Luxembourg going down the same road. States in Brazil introducing vaccine passports. New York banning the unvaccinated from public places.
Is all of that proportionate, in your opinion?
Why do you say that those who dislike masks are against the vaccine? I have no issue with the vaccine.

But it is good that there will be countries to emigrate to, such as Denmark. I don't really care whether they're permanent in Ireland. It's countries I'd like to go to I'm concerned about. I quite like Southeast Asia, but won't go there because of masks. And there are other countries as well.
And just on Denmark, and this is a point I made on another thread, why do we hear talk of 'following the science' when the science being followed in Denmark says masks aren't necessary anywhere, but the science in the Republic of Ireland, which presumably is the same science, hence the use of the definite article', says they will be required indefinitely on public transport, in shops, and in healthcare settings? The science in the US says masks are necessary for children, but the science in Sweden says they aren't. Yes, different countries, cultures, I know, but the use of 'the' suggests that it is the one science being followed all across the world.
When should masks go everywhere in Ireland, in your opinion? What percentage of the population has to be vaccinated? Should natural immunity be considered at all? Or just vaccine immunity?

The people either side are adults and therefore more than likely vaccinated, the children are young and therefore more than likely not vaccinated.
The children are wearing masks for everyone's protection, a concept you still fail to grasp after almost two years it seems.
I was in whitewater in Newbridge today.
Signs up saying masks are advised and encouraged.
About 5% of people walking around weren't wearing masks (typical knuckle dragging slicked back hair gold chain wearing young male types)
I didn't see any police force or battoning then to death for not wearing a mask.

Fair enough. But something tells me if this was ebola or some other highly infectious disease we were dealing with there would be no issues with wearing masks. I'm not having a dig at you personally it's the thinking behind the anti-maskers/vaxx that gets me.
If it was a disease with a higher infection and death rate, then the government would be behind it because of global depopulation or some such guff. Most conspiracy theories are about being against the consensus, makes them feel special that they alone know something that everyone else doesn’t and they are part of a righteous fight.
Your self diagnosis doesn't pass muster seeing as you don't understand either vaccines or masks, you are part of the reason masks are still needed, get vaccinated and get the others like you vaccinated and we can drop the mask mandates sooner.

Lithuania are enforcing rules that were mandated for Europe.... are they a little over the top with their implementation, yes... but you make it out as if these passes are hard to get... you just have to do a lateral flow test and you're good for 72hours... so that twitter account you linked to, 99% of their problems would have been fixed by this... it also stinks of a propaganda account

Germany/Luxembourg are going the same route because it's a Europe wide mandate....a simple lateral flow tests updates any pass you have and all are not permanent.
Melbourne is only ramping up to a huge case load of unvaccinated people... Brazil is still in a shitbox of a state (600,000 dead obviously means **** all to you)
New York aren't banning people from public places, it is indoor settings, so stop talking crap....
they did however ban unvaccinated children from public places during a measles outbreak in 2019. That was lifted when it was contained.... where you so aggrieved then too? Measles outbreak leads New York county to ban unvaccinated children from public spaces (nbcnews.com)

You are complaining of them wasting time and energy, but you have come on here and posted. Something you admit you do not often. So why begin investing your time and energy into something you are complaining others are investing theirs in?
Here's a conspiracy thought. IF it was some kind of conspiracy, and we factor in mass surveillance i.e. CCTV on every street e.g. the UK, why would they ask us to wear masks in public?
