They work when the car isn't on, so I believe that's the 12v
Pretty much everything except the motor is powered from the 12v supply. There's already an existing ecosystem of parts available to use, instead of adapting them for 400v
They might still power some stuff down when the car is "off" to save the 12v from discharging
Great stuff thanks - I didn't want to be worried about draining range if I was charging the phone. Probably silly to even think it, but I prefer to be informed.
All I need now is the car to be ready for delivery 😀
I have the rear speakers. Sound is not up to HK system in Volvo XC40 but is surprisingly good nonetheless and because the car is so quiet I can enjoy the music. Way better than in Hyundai Tucson that ID3 replaced.
Yeah some models get the rear speakers some don't but thought all the tour versions didn't for some insane reason but yours dose lol.
Yup, all good.
Did your sill protectors arrive yet?
(Your pic reminded me..😊)
Not yet, shouldn't be far off though.
Are you sure the speaker is actually installed ?
Oh don't worry, you'll need to charge 100 phones to even make a dent in the main battery
By my rough calculations (I must be bored🙂) every time you charge an average phone from 0-100% you loose about 80 metres of range. (Or 1 km every 12 charges) 😁
Seems like nothing until you run out of charge 80 meters from a charger 🙄😄
The tour has rear speakers. I don’t know about the tour 5. The sound is fine. One thing that is excellent is sound on a phone call. It never sounds like my husband is driving when he calls from the car.
At least you'll be able to call for help though 😁
Tour has rear speakers, Tour 5 hasn’t?
...
One for the anoraks.....
VW SSP 709 ID3,ID4 IS 713 I think.
I'll attempt to stick a link up to my Dropbox.
If anybody is really sad (i.e. me)
The ID range is up on erWin now,
On a related topic there's still no practical DIY coding system available unlike VAG products of old.
This may work......
This is related to a question I asked a few pages ago but wasn’t answered.
Killing the 12v battery is a far more of an issue than losing range because you’re listening to the radio or whatever.
In the egolf once you engaged the drive mode you were running everything off the hi volt battery (was my understanding). Similar to ‘idling’ in an ice.
In the id3 if you park the car it will shut down after a while. So now (as I wait for my son’s football training to end) am I killing the 12v?
Killing it... no
Using it... yes.
Its the same in the ID range. If the car is in Drive mode it is constantly charging the 12V. If you put it in Park it will shut off the HV.
Well you know just because the grill is there doesn't mean there's a speaker there lol. 😂
Unfortunately the tour 5 definitely hasn't got rear speakers, not even the cabling exists to add speakers later, I find it quite unbelievable in a 41K car.
But, I will probably upgrade the front myself and include some sound insulation to prevent unwanted resonance.
I just changed my eflow account from a Video Account to a Tag, will the automatically know that the car is a BEV and so entitled to reduced rates?
When I called eflow after getting my car, I was advised to email evti@eflow.ie asking about the 'Low Emissions Vehicle Toll Incentive' with my account and car details.
I think they should apply it automatically because of the model of car, but I called them just to be sure
ok, thanks.
but placing it in park shuts off the HV? Surely only after it shuts itself down no? Otherwise it would be powering down/up the HV every time you park the car?
Apologies, but i really like sitting in my ev, feeling smug as i'm not running the engine to stay warm and listen to my tunes. the smugness would bite me in the ass if the car doesn't start...
I did the same assuming it would be automatic, it wasn't. First bill showed no discount so contacted them to be told they had to be informed that it was a EV.
The subsequent bills still show no discount even though I have contacted them, several times.
So when you hit park the HV battery switches off after a while, so the electrics will be powered off the 12v from there
However, the car will charge the 12v at set intervals from the HV battery to stop it from being drained,
Does the ID3 HV battery stay alive while you remain sitting in the drivers seat?
Well @[Deleted User] how did you get on today?
Unfortunatley that sounds familiar. They're slow to answer emails (allow a couple of weeks!!) and if you call be prepared for 30-40 minutes hold time.
I recieved confirmation that the reduce rate would be applied but like you, my first statement since shows no reduction and still waiting for a response about that...
