Here
All Sinn Fein have to do is stop throwing good money after bad and they will be a success. Too many failed projects by FG and FF to be taking the high moral ground on this one. Take for instance raising the age of pensioners to 67 - FF didn't agree and somehow FG found the money to cover it. Incentivising vulture funds to build hotels rather than using that money to build social housing would also be a step in the right direction. FG are clueless - imagine coming out with what Leo did about landlords need an income as well last week. Someone needs to put a stop to FG's aspirations to turn Ireland into a mini Tories UK.
What a hell it would be if an Irish party followed Tory policy.
The Metro north would go ahead.
Light rail projects in Galway,Cork,Limerick etc.
Upgrade of rail links between cities eg HS2
Rail links to all airports.
Free universal GP care.
Top rate of tax at £50k instead of €35k
No USC
Free school books for kids.
Free travel for those over 60 instead of 65 in the capital city.
Etc.
Once SF are in for 4 years they better have metro north well on the road to completion, light rail projects started in Cork,Galway,Limerick etc, free universal GP care, free schoolbooks, top rate of tax starting at €54k, zero inheritance tax like in NZ under Labour etc
That's the wrong analogy.
Sinn Fein are like the hurler on the ditch or the backseat driver. They are shouting don't drive that way, but when asked which way should we go instead, they have blank faces.
FF/FG/Greens would still get a majority based on those poll figures. Figures are very close to general election performance for the coalition.
SF would wipe out the rest of the left, leaving very little changed.
It will likely be a sf / ff coalition. If sf win as many seats as we expect, it would be undemocratic to exclude them from leading, if they wish to do so. I believe varadkar said as much last election. Another few yeats of this current farce and ffg coalition will not he tolerated...
Fg will be happy to sit out for a round... by far the most likely outcome in my opinion...
They are doing a bad job. You can point that out without having any alternative, (not saying they don't). That's it put plainly. If you don't like a film that comes out you aren't excepted to direct your own before you can comment. That was the stupid claim someone else made. I'm saying that's bollo.
I think they will wipe out Fianna Fail. I can see a few more defections to Sinn Fein if Martin doesn't go. And the Greens will eat themselves.
They wouldn't last 4 years, as first item on every agenda for SF HQ is a United Ireland. Once they start down that road, open hostilities.
We have been promised this by SF supporters since the last election, guess what the opposite is happening
Greens are back up to the numbers they had at election. FF are very close as well.
As I mentioned on here the one starting to struggle now is SF because the media now ask them questions and their point of view, not what the guberment are doing. As we seen in the last two interviews done by SF it was a disaster and any swing voter listening to that will quickly jump.
We are off again on the Bank Holiday, why do you have an issue with the government giving an extra holiday to the people who worked their back sides off all during the pandemic?
SF don't state anything, it's pie in the sky stuff like the HSE document, once someone asks a question it all comes falling down.
Don't quote facts against the spin!!!
Remember Sinn Fein won a majority at the last election, and the other parties all conspired illegally to keep them out. That is the only true version of history.
The figures at the moment show that the only change since the general election has been Sinn Fein cannabilising the Left.
Another incorrect analogy.
Sinn Fein don't like the film, that it true, but they are claiming that they would direct it better, and want to direct the film, but haven't got a single clue what they would do differently.
So unless you can explain it to us clearly, the only conclusion is that Sinn Fein are talking through their arse and don't have a single idea to do things differently*.
*Of course, build more houses, I forgot that one
Any combo will need about 84 seats to last he full term SF will be a long way short of that so will need a group or party with about 30 plus seats so they will have to hook up with some of the present government and that looks a tall order at the moment .
They’re only up 1% in the latest Poll, so I doubt that they will have the most seats in next GE.
like all those metros, light rail links and rail links to all airports the tories have been building across the uk over the past 11 years? LOL.
sure, they have done some rail upgrades, upgrades which were needed 30 years ago or more but which they refused to fund dispite the fact that they would have been done at half the cost, but they have canceled a hell of a lot of proposed and planned ones which are critical to modernisation and which would have brought down costs such as electrification schemes.
free gp care, school books etc, all labour.
They would certainly wipe out FF if FF were stupid enough to go into government with them.
Not hard to do when you look at what is currently in the Left parties. Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Boyd Barrett and Pearse, both spend the entire time roaring and shouting, putting on a show with nothing behind it.
Correct and right, all these two lads want is to keep on the State teat for as long as they can.
For them, the plan is to stay out of govt. for as long as they can, amass enough hours to get the ‘pinshon “ and sit back and laugh at JQ Taxpayers expense.
Its so obvious.
Boom and SF come out and wait till we see the reaction to this. Originally this was 140k, now it is 100k. Next month 80k? 60k? what a joke of a party. They just want to screw the people working hard and have bothered to stay in education to get a good job
The funny bit is the additional HSE staff, most of those are supposed to be consultants who based on the HSE pricing start at 100k+. 😂
This really is fairy tale stuff and Pearse should be embarrassed presenting it, thing is they are not which should be a huge concern to SF supporter.
Is this were I can accuse you of selective quoting for not mentioning:
Sinn Féin wants to abolish the Special Assignee Relief Programme (SARP) which provides a tax breaks to senior multinational firm executives to save €42 million.
The removal of the Help to Buy Scheme at a cost of €126m is also proposed. Mr Doherty said the scheme for first-time buyers had failed, describing it as a “ wasting taxpayers’ money” and pushing up house prices.
Me likey.
The only tax that J.P. McManus pays in Ireland is the LPT on his home, worth around €200m.
So the Sinn Fein budget plan is to refund €0.5m to J.P. McManus.
Selective quoting refers to taking section out of a post to make an argument against a poster, FYI
Also I linked the source so everyone could read
Tax breaks for JP and multi millionaires all over ireland while the hard working doctor and consultant gets screwed with paying more tax
That's just the budget. Wait til they tackle section 110 companies and begin closing tax loopholes.
Lets talk about what they are proposing instead of pie in the sky stuff
As we can see you can’t trust their word, the140k soon disappeared….
Prefer reality right? Like student food banks running out because rents are out of control.
See Sinn Fein have proposed a rent freeze for three years. If only the government would look at the desperation of people.
Ever see the Qs for macdonalds when they give out free mcmuffins for breakfast once a year?
Give over ffs😂😂
Jumping from one topic to another to cover up the shambles that was the announcement today by SF. Fairly transparent.
So any comment on the 100k? or was it 140k? no sorry it was 100k at the moment. Whats it next week? 60k?
