Which? Their asking prices are always strong 😂
All of them - €17k for a sub date is mental money - €22k for a Kermit !!
They do seem strong but real dealer prices (ie one that pays tax and has overheads) vs Instagram dealers vs private market are all different ball games.
as the prices are in euros is there any chance they have included VAT?
Less than watchfinder!
I think they are prepping for the Christmas busy time and getting the prices up for then, prices are flagged to increase Nov, Dec and Jan and then settle again. Its what TPG and Roman Sharf are doing, and seeing as P&P take their lead from them that probably the cause.
Do prices traditionally slide back in the new year then at some point?
Did Nico not get the memo that Rolex prices are falling? 😅
Can you imagine sitting on the fence about Rolex for the last year and not buying one ? You’d feel a bit daft now
That has been the same story for several years in a row now. Many of the regulars in here say Rolex sports are a bubble that's about to burst, but we have seen no signs of that at all. And what Fitz says the confidence in upping the prices significantly for the holiday season points to the opposite.
That was a gentle nudge in jest at 893
Not as daft as I would be feeling if I claimed prices were dropping last week 😅.
Personally I don’t like Rolex styling. Buried deep in German stuff in my head. I was on the verge of committing to the kinda watch what that would leave a big depreciation hole in my pocket before Fitz said something to make me see sense. The depreciation not being the issue by the way. Rather the risk of buying a watch blindly having never handled it.
I also thought crypto wouldn’t crash and Celtic tiger would never die so don’t take money advice from me.
The yacht master on the site is stg £13750 which equates to roughly €16k but if you select as shipping to Ireland the price is €19200 so it must be vat being added on that’s throwing the price out .
What goes up must come down. But the down ain’t started yet.
I did say above it was likely the VAT element for euro sales.
Interesting, no VAT as it is an NI sale?
Thankfully there is a canary in this mine.....watchfinder. If you ever sell a watch to them you notice it doesnt go on sale for about 6 months. They buy on the predicted price in 6 months and on top of that they control the prices and hoard supply. If WF ever start not making offers on watches or making really terrible offers you know the thing is about to pop. As time goes on, Chrono24 prices are more and more fantastical. Remember that with Nicos internet fame, he can put heavy prices on watches that people will pay just to get the P&P experiance (which is actually a very good experiance)
@893bet I did say above it was likely the VAT element for euro sales.
You did but even a broken watch is right twice a day:)
Posts deleted. Let's have less of the digs at other members please.
Let me be the first to start the panic selling, anyone want to buy some Rolexs?
What are you selling?
It was meant more in jest than seriousness. If i ever get my AP though (its always another 6-8 weeks🙄) i'll probably move on my YM for something more classic looking like an ALS.
Which AP are you after again? With Weirs?
I’m down to get a RG Royal Oak Chronograph to replace the one that was stolen. Weirs don’t do AP, which is unfortunate because they arranged for a replacement GMT master without me even asking, which was very good of them. Though apparently Sheerans did AP back in the 00s though.
Ah yes. The level of demand for watches that you would assume is not are not in demand is surprising. Gold 30k watches with waitlists.
Ireland is a waste for sourcing watches. No AP, no VC, No ALS. Very little bar mainstream luxury of Rolex, Omga, tag, brietling etc.
Lucky you are dealing with Weirs. Remember Keanes lost a lads GMT withstand was in for a service on here and they just paid by cheque in the end. It was a discontinued model aswell. Weirs went above and beyond considering the loss was nothing to do with them.
Which YM is that?
I agree with micks_address, you'd have to ask or risk getting a polite "thank you" and it sitting in a drawer for the next 20 years. The reality is 99% of people have zero interest in stuff like that unfortunately.
i think its a 37mm one, wont be of interest to you Unkel!
Ah yeah I remember now, thanks Cyrus :-)
Is this your VC deepstream ?
Like Banie, I may also have an interest in this if you decide to move it on.
Just been watching the FP3 in the Formula 1 from a rain soaked Istanbul circuit.
And it struck me that Rolex has been the official timekeeper for a while now, and I've never even seen a reference to a Rolex Formula 1 time piece.
I've seen pictures of a red accented, black dial steel Daytona, but I don't even know if it is real.
With IWC, TAG Heuer, Hublot and Richard Mille as high profile team sponsors, I wonder is Rolex deliberately staying out of the F1 branding race?
Tried on a friends 2013 sub last night. They are a lovely watch in fairness
