Hi folks,
It's my first time to post here, the group is supper helpful.
I received an email requesting, "We require the preceding 12 months of your career history to be covered, so from September 2020 to September 2021. If you have been unemployed or if there are any gaps in your employment in the last year, we will require evidence from the Office of the Revenue Commissioners or Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection."
How do I get the Office of the Revenue Commissioners evidence? Can I do it myself online and how?
Thanks
Were you signing on (e.g. getting Jobseeker's Allowance / Jobseeker's Benefit / PUP)? Get something form Social Welfare on headed paper to that effect. Just ring or email whoever you dealt with during that time, I'm sure they assist you, this is a very common query they get. I presume they have Revenue as an option as if you were working, even very causally, you could show them your P21 as proof.
If you weren't, get a letter from them that you were not entitled to sign on (e.g. because you didn't have the prsi stamps or you're married to someone with income too high etc). What were you doing at the time?
If you have NOTHING but you were in the country (you weren't on PUP, you were living off savings and have no record whatsoever of what you were doing) get someone semi-official like a doctor / garda to state they know you personally and what you were doing during that time. And maybe get it sworn by a peace commissioner too and chance your arm with that.
Make sure it explains //every day required// so ask whoever is writing it for you to specifically say this document is for the period 01/09/2021 - 23/09/2021.
@Wonderstruck Thank you for the advice. I have just called the DSP and the lady said they can't help me as I just started to sign with them since last week.
For the past year I was on Traineeship and paid by ETB the amount I was supposed be getting from DSP. So I wasn't on the DSP files. The lady asked to try with the Rent Unit as I was on rent allowance.
Get a letter from the ETB to say you were on a full time training course.
@EO2019 Yeah that's what I thought of as well, but I managed to print a statement of my payments from the My Welfare website. I hope it will do the work.
this panel was for only 12 months as stated in the booklet but it has been extended until when, no one knows??
For CO 2020, do we get assigned to a position or we are offered a position?
Can someone help me to understand?
once they reach your oom after interview you get an email saying you are under consideration for a position and you’ve to fill in some forms, provide a contact for a reference from your current employer and start Garda vetting. Once all are completed you then get assigned a position.
Okay, I see. So I should wait for the notification. Is it acceptable to not take the assigned position and wait for another one or it takes you out of the competition?
As far as I’m aware of you reject a position it removes you from the campaign completely. There might be a way around it if the distance is over 45km but even then I’m not sure.
I’ve found the staff in PAS to be lovely so you could always ask the person assigned to carry out your pre clearance checks when the time comes.
Thank you. That's very helpful information. I will check with the PAS.
just pop in to your social welfare office any they will provide you will a letter to say you were out of work whatever period of time.
Hi im hoping somebody can help, My OH received news today hes completed stage 2 of CO and will wait to hear from revenue regarding next part of application. I would presume it is Vetting, medical etc. Did anybody need to provide proof of leaving cert? This was done over 25 years ago, and has been in employment since.
Looking for a change of scenery now as the age is creeping up.
Thanks in advance, He is 37 in order of merit batch 7.
I listed my LC results on the form but they didn't ask me for proof, I just remembered them! Has he been offered Customs?
I don't imagine they would be asking for them at this late point if they were relevant to his application.
Hiya thanks, he listed what he can remember of his results, He did the EOI for customs so hoping he gets it as it would really suit his personality. He is quite fit and needs to be kept very busy or will be bored so this is 100% right move for him. The next part is to wait for revenue to be in touch.
I have no patience but so excited for him
I was offered customs previously. Turned it down at the time and regretted it big time. Bored senseless in the current role....so hoping mobility will be my escape route
Hi I have searched everywhere is there an threads for HSE panels for 2021 pls
Did you hear anything since? I heard they are on batch 8 but don’t know how far down.
Got news last week. Just waiting on Garda vetting and references now. Hope it goes well for you.
Anyone having trouble tracking their Garda Vetting? Everytime I input my information and click "submit", I get a message saying "Server Error on '/' application?
I got that when I entered my COCO2020 ID instead of the vetting ID. Could that be your issue?
was anyone assigned to AGS and if yes how long did the security clearance take?
A few years ago it took literal months, might be quicker now. If you're in Dublin you could chance emailing them and ask for somewhere else worked for someone I knew - she was born abroad so it would have taken a very long time for her vetting to come back and someone else ahead of her had just pulled out of a role for a dept with normal level vetting so they were more than happy to accommodate. If you have a close relative who is a criminal / undergoing a criminal investigation I would just ask now not to go to AGS as you'll have to wait until vetting is done and you won't be going there anyways so waste of your time.
If you've only ever lived in Ireland / don't know any criminals it should be quicker though. If you've ever lived abroad prepare to be waiting a while!!!
TBH I'd do anything to get out of an AGS placement if you have plans for mobility or interd promotion...

Does anyone know how long vetting takes?
It depends on where you are being placed. Mine took approximately 18hrs. For AGS it can take a long time as there is an extra layer of vetting.
That was very fast.
Anyone know is it actually possible to turn down/defer a position based on distance from home and wait for another position? Or is this just an urban legend?
Thank you, I’ve no idea where I’ll be placed all I know is that I was told it would take a couple of weeks.
