RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
This is absolutely abysmal
The acting is shocking in this and there's not enough action. Just a whole load of talking shite. I'm out.
Remember the movie 9 songs. The couple in it were straight but they were having real sex. Crappy enough film but there was some decent live music in it.
U want Fudge and Gillen to do something similar??!! Lol.
Lansdowne lane.....passed down that way today not a Guard in sight, must be all over (or they're all dead)
Was waiting for him to say 'appropriate adult' .............just for ol times sake
Aviva
Ironically John Boys apartment in Love/Hate was in view of Croke Park
The various mews houses where Frank's family live, are they in the shadow of Croke Park or the Aviva.
Episode 4 was slow in parts but stories seem to be progressing a lot
Poor Fudge who seemed a harmless oaf killed off and the other lad getting the boot from the group because of it ( I wonder will he come crawling to Eamonns group now or maybe even go to the guards as he knows a bit). Yeah Ms Larkin aka Amanda is turning into right a tough MILF. Be interesting to see where this robbery goes, reckon we are still to see Eamonns real dark side. Not much interest in the daughter storyline but you have to feel she could end up saving or Dad or vice versa
Good to see the lawyer from Love/Hate has moved to pastures new and is a drug dealer now
the should have got the Fudge character to give him a Bj, he's gay off screen
Decent
Is there a need to reference a characters sexuality? You could have just said Frank.
It’s padded out with LOADS of filler
Even after episode 4 it still feels a bit slow, it's going in the right direction. Hopefully it kicks on from here
Episode 4 was an improvement, it was good to see the plot picking up the pace a bit. Its still only okay, but I don't see myself dropping it now.
Agreed. My original post was deleted for some reason(?) Just wannabe hardshaws getting in and out of cars. Aidan Gillen talking out the side of his mouth. Pure drivel.
Episode 4 done and dusted.
Not Bad. Definitely shaping up for the second half of the series to be pretty savage (I hope)
Still going to stick with it.
The reg of the BMW which Viking i think it was used to shoot in episode one,
is registered to a Nissan Micra https://www.motorcheck.ie/free-car-check/?vrm=191D11570
Fair city took 20 seasons to really get going....
Really enjoyed episode 4, well worth the watch.
This Larkin lass is turning out to be no pushover.
RTE not giving away much for episode 4, the promo is only 15 seconds long
The guy from Bachelors walk seems to be Eamonns business associate. This tattooed guy may be be Eamonns muscle
And Frank's side-kick, the fella who drives him around.
I’m thinking it was a set-up. Man-bun went on about the exit door, after he had a strop about Whispering Michael maybe speaking at the boy’s funeral. Maybe this is his revenge for him impregnating the missus - land him back in jail, and he’ll lose any small chance he has of forming a relationship with his daughter.
**** hell!
After stardust I don't think any pub should or would do that. Definitely doubt a pub like Frank Ryan's would
Indo is reporting we'll be seeing actor Baz Black in the series soon, he was in Dublin Murders I think.
I'm sure much will be made of his body art (seems to trigger some people!) but I think his tattoos are absolutely stunning.
Hopefully he brings something good to the series
Two things that stretched credibility in last episode for me:
Would someone in a gang still be alive if he impregnated another high up's missus, brothers or not? At the very least I would have expected Mikey to be banished for that and certainly not remain paly with the brother.
Where they burn out the car is not a quiet area. The guards would surely be able to get the 2 lads on CCTV making their way from the docks. Up the dub mountains is where they should have gone. Seemed to be just done for the effects of the boats and poolbeg towers in the background
would that not be a health and safety issue? imagine if there was a fire , they'd be some carnage. places were closed down for less.
Pretty rare to axe a significant series after one season. The Get Down being an exception. Firefly also but an unknown cast. This has two actors coming from the biggest TV series ever, the guy from Daredevil and other thespians of note. AMC will gamble on a second season even if the figures aren't there in the US this year.
Almost at the halfway point.
Pacing is way too slow for me without enough strong or meaningful character development to hold much interest. I mean, who cares if whispering magician Michael has epilepsy?
Most of the acting is awful along with the stilted bland dialog.
Long moody stares, really boring dragged out scenes.
I've started it but I don't think it'll be a weekly occurence for me from now on.
