RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
Indo is reporting we'll be seeing actor Baz Black in the series soon, he was in Dublin Murders I think.
I'm sure much will be made of his body art (seems to trigger some people!) but I think his tattoos are absolutely stunning.
Hopefully he brings something good to the series
After stardust I don't think any pub should or would do that. Definitely doubt a pub like Frank Ryan's would
**** hell!
I’m thinking it was a set-up. Man-bun went on about the exit door, after he had a strop about Whispering Michael maybe speaking at the boy’s funeral. Maybe this is his revenge for him impregnating the missus - land him back in jail, and he’ll lose any small chance he has of forming a relationship with his daughter.
And Frank's side-kick, the fella who drives him around.
The guy from Bachelors walk seems to be Eamonns business associate. This tattooed guy may be be Eamonns muscle
RTE not giving away much for episode 4, the promo is only 15 seconds long
Really enjoyed episode 4, well worth the watch.
This Larkin lass is turning out to be no pushover.
Fair city took 20 seasons to really get going....
The reg of the BMW which Viking i think it was used to shoot in episode one,
is registered to a Nissan Micra https://www.motorcheck.ie/free-car-check/?vrm=191D11570
Episode 4 done and dusted.
Not Bad. Definitely shaping up for the second half of the series to be pretty savage (I hope)
Still going to stick with it.
Agreed. My original post was deleted for some reason(?) Just wannabe hardshaws getting in and out of cars. Aidan Gillen talking out the side of his mouth. Pure drivel.
Episode 4 was an improvement, it was good to see the plot picking up the pace a bit. Its still only okay, but I don't see myself dropping it now.
Even after episode 4 it still feels a bit slow, it's going in the right direction. Hopefully it kicks on from here
It’s padded out with LOADS of filler
Is there a need to reference a characters sexuality? You could have just said Frank.
Decent
the should have got the Fudge character to give him a Bj, he's gay off screen
Episode 4 was slow in parts but stories seem to be progressing a lot
Poor Fudge who seemed a harmless oaf killed off and the other lad getting the boot from the group because of it ( I wonder will he come crawling to Eamonns group now or maybe even go to the guards as he knows a bit). Yeah Ms Larkin aka Amanda is turning into right a tough MILF. Be interesting to see where this robbery goes, reckon we are still to see Eamonns real dark side. Not much interest in the daughter storyline but you have to feel she could end up saving or Dad or vice versa
Good to see the lawyer from Love/Hate has moved to pastures new and is a drug dealer now
The various mews houses where Frank's family live, are they in the shadow of Croke Park or the Aviva.
Aviva
Ironically John Boys apartment in Love/Hate was in view of Croke Park
Was waiting for him to say 'appropriate adult' .............just for ol times sake
Lansdowne lane.....passed down that way today not a Guard in sight, must be all over (or they're all dead)
Remember the movie 9 songs. The couple in it were straight but they were having real sex. Crappy enough film but there was some decent live music in it.
U want Fudge and Gillen to do something similar??!! Lol.
The acting is shocking in this and there's not enough action. Just a whole load of talking shite. I'm out.
This is absolutely abysmal
Thought it was another decent episode. I'm at a loss as to the people who say there isn't enough action. It's a crime-drama. I mean, it's not as if Sopranos or Breaking Bad were full of people getting whacked left right and centre?
And, having said that, I'm absolutely not comparing Kin favorably to those shows, obviously it's not worth the steam of their piss, but the fundemental point remains - why would you expect crazy action from a crime-drama?
Even its closest relation, Love/Hate, was paced very similarly in all fairness. There has been "action" every episode.
I get people not liking it for various reasons. But "not enough action" seems quite strange to me. There's exactly the right amount of action for a show of its ilk as far as I can see.
All in all, I'm really enjoying it and while the plot, dialogue and acting might not be top notch, I find it paced just fine.
I don’t get the hate for this show. It’s solid, watchable and believable plot wise and it’s very slickly produced, filmed and scored.
it could go south of course.
Go south, an episode in Cork?
"Absymal" says the man who could only stomach "20 minutes" of the first episode before turning it off because it was so bad.
Yet here he is, four weeks in, still watching and still complaining. You could set your clock to his weekly outrage about how terrible it is - I wouldn't mind but he doesn't even wait for it to turn up on RTE, he has get in there and watch it early because it's so absymal. I'm getting some heavy "I can't quit you" vibes here. 😂😂😂
Takes all sorts I suppose.
