I had VW customer service and 3 different dealers confirm that 221 cars wouldn't get the 0%.
My dealer had to get permission to apply the 0% to my car because I had switched from the original order to an unassigned one and that was still a 212. He said that there was no hope they would agree to it for 221 cars since the offer had been ended even for 212 at that point hence his need to get permission for mine.
He was handing over my documentation so there wasn't any reason for him to spin it or anything.
I wouldn't be taking the chance anyway.
Yeah they definitely do have to jump through hoops to get it for you in these situations, but they will do it.
For example, in my case (just last week), she had to ask the people in VW Bank Ireland to "open the 0% on the system" for 5 minutes while she squeezed my deal in. She had to give VW my Comm number, etc, to prove I ordered the car when the 0% was in place originally.
She had to stay on the phone with the Bank when doing this and make it as quick as possible, as while it was "open at 0%" there'd be a chance another dealer would spot it and give 0% to a new customer sitting in front of them.
So their systems are a little antiquated, in that, if they open it at 0% for one person, its visible to everyone for that brief period of time.
2 Weeks ? I wish!
Next week I'll be on the N7 around that time might be further up around city west. See if you can spot the Mad_Lad lol
Are you up Mon - Fri ?
How's that travel assist working out ? got used to it yet ? I tried the adaptive cruise on the test car and it worked great even brought the car to a complete stop.
Keep an eye on it on the M9 and M7 around Naas. I noticed a couple of times heading south that the car picked up a 50 speed sign on an exit and dropped me down to from 120 on the motorway 😱
Otherwise it's grand all the way, never had an issue
Actually I was driving down the M1 last weekend in heavy rain showers. Visibility was about halfway from the windscreen to the front of the car. Trave assist was bulletproof the whole way, had a solid lock onto the cars around me and the lanes, even when I was struggling to see them at times
Yeah that happened me today at the service station before naas exit I think. Was fine. The travel assist is brilliant at pick up changes in speed before I would - without reacting suddenly. It’s very good. Just two days a week at the moment. It’s enough !
Hi all.
Im looking at a id3 1st, second hand. Do you get two chargers with it? Like the id4
You should get a Type2 charging cable for plugging into a wallbox, and a 3 pin charging cable that'll work on any socket
Thanks I have both on my id4, but didn't know if it came on the id3 1st edition
the 3ph one is only 16A though. I think later models came with 32A cable.
So am I fighting a losing battle insisting that I get a 221 plate in January on a car I ordered in May?
Why are they deciding when the car is registered? That’s your decision to make, not theirs. If the car costs more in January, then you’ve a decision to make but the dealer is not the one to make that decision.
Some of the posts in these ID threads about dealer experiences astound me.
I hope they're giving you a discount considering you're a frequent buyer 😁
I think what they are trying to say is that because the grant is being applied for in 2021 so therefore the car should be registered as 2021
Email this morning from VW looking for consent to get 2.3.
I'm a first mover but never bothered emailing to get put on the initial update list.
Got my We Charge invoice this morning for Sept usage. Still got €196 remaining of original €600 free, just less than 3 months to go.
How are other 1st Movers doing?
I still have €400+ 😁
280EUR but they still aren't billing me for the 22AC ESB charging sessions which there is a lot so my worry is that this will come with a bang (like the last time) and they will charge me even though i had credit at time of the charge...
The billing of non Ionity seems to be accurate now, I also got a burst of early ESB sessions a while ago. But only some of them, hopefully there will be no further backdates..
First mover here
I've €73.36 left on mine.
I just got a call from the dealer telling me that there are two updates due, that I have to bring the car in for, not over the air updates. This is not the "big" update from last January as I have already done this. I rang the support line on the we charge app and they said there are no physical updates due. So I'm not sure what is going on here.
He told me again that there is a 30,000km limit for the first service, even though the brochure says on page 30 that there is no mileage limit. He got me to email me the brochure, that is on the vw website.
Is anyone else being told about these physical updates and 30,000km limits, or am I getting special treatment?
In the same call he told me about a service deal they are doing for €640, giving 4 new wheels, wipers front and back and pollen filters.
Got mine this morning too, and im not a first mover
Haha bargain. They'll charge 15 Euro extra to top up the wiper fluid.
Also are they offering you new wheels without looking a them?
There were a few physical updates/checks. They told me when the car had to be left in for the 2.1 update. Can't remember what they were for, but iirc one was for some sort of suspension linkage check/mod.
The tiguan spare wheel fits you just need to order a 3mm wheel hub spacer for the front so it doesn't catch the brake discs
Nice one pat, I take it’s that’s a Tiguan space saver -
Do I need to source a spacer with the same bolt pattern or does it just go over the hub ?
I learned a lesson on the jack front, get one that’s rated for the specific load- nearly lost a hand when the jack snapped.
Many thanks for the information -
Almost 600 still on mine. But I didn't register mine until March of this year so it is valid until the end of June 2022.
Rarely charge away from home but should start to use the credit.
Isn't it the Eco Assist or whatever they call it that will cause the car to slow down in these situations? And not the ACC or travel assist
On ACC the car will read the sign but not slow down I find. The Eco Assist tries to slow the car down much to often for me.
I have only been up to Dublin yesterday for the first time luckily only have to do the commute maybe 1 or 2 times a week. Was very happy with it yesterday much better than the T-Roc we had previous.
Anyone bought a spare set of alloys to use for winter wheels?
Yes its the 145/80 r18 spacer is from autostyling vw 5x112 57.1 centre bore. If you also buy a stud and cut the head off it, you can screw it to hub and place spacer on it then the wheel and tighen up and remove it.
Yes it is Eco Assist or whatever its called, but you don't notice the car slowing up if you are driving it without ACC on. You do get the speed limit warning though if you have it activated. Of course it will slow up if you let the car freewheel if an incorrect speed limit is detected. I tend not to use ACC that much unless on a long motorway run.
