And if you read on to the next paragraph, she seems to be implying that the trolling is coming from friends of her ex-partner.
''Madam Justice Denise McBride at Belfast's high court was also told Ms Cahill has now been subjected to online trolling by other internet users.
Defence barrister Michael Tierney stressed his client categorically denies any involvement in the postings.''
That is an assumption of yours, not of mine. Ms. Cahill and others have spoken frequently of the wide-ranging abuse that she has received. Unfortunately, her ex-partner is only a small part of that.
The lies that are told about her continue even in recent posts on here.
Look, seriously, how long do you think it would take the PIRA to find out her address if they wanted to?
The reason she gave in court was because of the barring order she has against her ex partner.
All politicians get online abuse from what we're told, so she isn't unusual in that. What lies are being told about her here.
Mary Lou showing how lacking in class and basic manners she really is.
https://www.thejournal.ie/mairia-cahill-mary-lou-mcdonald-1777561-Nov2014/
I’m afraid the lack of class runs right through the party, think of Cullinane with his ‘break the State” and other despicable remarks, think of the carry on in the RDS, think of the bother Stanley got into, look at Ferris now still trying justify the unjustifiable, and there’s plenty more.
bad day for Kathleen Ní Houliháne if that bunch ever get into power here.
I read this humorous article by Miriam Lord in the IT on a back and forth between Micheal Martin v SF in the dail.
The author referenced Martin’s fondness of the word ‘unprecedented’. And how SF / Mary Lou is fond of saying ‘what planet are you on Taoiseach?’
The latter phrase made me laugh as it is kind of ironic when you think of it. As SF and Mary Lou ask others ‘what planet they are on?’ But on the other hand SF seem very unsure about what State(Country) they are in. Never mind what planet!
I feel Martin is missing a trick not pointing this out in response to the SF ‘what planet’ question.
So Mairia claims Mary Lou 'smirked' at her. Mary Lou said she smiled at her. Should Mary Lou have just pretended she wasn't there and remain expressionless?
I notice in that article that RTE question whether this is just political manouvring (i.e., point score by using Maria Cahill) on behalf of the parties, bearing in mind how the Goverment have treated victims of abuse in the past and mentions Louise O’Keeffe who had to bring the Irish Government to the European Court of Human Rights to get an apology for abuse she got from a teacher, an employee of the State?
Why are you using rape to wriggle your way out of an unrelated corner?
The claim was SF had closer links to dissidents. I pointed out FG made one a senator. Now you are using rape.
The slimy way the link is made makes it even more sinister.
Indeed. Chilling.
Not to mention the women in the armed forces. FF/FG sat on a report commissioned over a decade ago and when it came to public attention again intended on another closed door selection process to appoint a review board without consulting the victims or explaining who would be on the board. Not forgetting their role in the Mother and Baby homes.
Anyway, I think using and introducing rape to try explain ones way out of an unrelated discussion is a very low bar.
Claim was SF would know people in the dissidents and be able to name them. I pointed out FG made one a senator.
Fine Gael did not make any dissident a senator.
Many dissidents are former members of Sinn Fein. You are very quick to claim Lowry as a FGer, well the same applies to dissidents then, who are SFers.
I don't think I've mentioned Lowry, but I would, yes.
No, only if SF are still friends with them and doing them favours for their support in votes.
It would be some feat to dig out any hard evidence if Sinn Féin did them any favours for votes, now wouldn’t it?
I had to laugh a bit at that post, I have to admit.
I would be worried for your safety Brendan if you managed to dig that out, having both SF and the dissidents after you would be quite the challenge.
The policy cupboard must be more empty than I feared.
Mary Lou was playing the "mansplaining" card earlier.
Pathetic stuff.
Yeah especially considering the only dissident in Irish politics capable of gifting votes for favours was put there by Fine Gael.
She called Martin out on his effort to pass as clever. Enjoy the blackouts over the Christmas 😎
David Cullinan has the health crisis sorted according to his pronouncements on RTE Drivetime.
'Modular' buildings for all the new beds he is going to build!
Sinn Fein - the Prefab Party
Better than being in a hall in a trolley.
You can now look forward to being on a trolley in a prefab.
Good plan, David.
I find it quite disturbing that many on this thread who claim to completely condemn SF due to some of their members historic connections with the PIRA are so comfortable with someone with much deeper links to paramilitarism than the likes of Mary-Lou ever had.
It's almost like the paramilitarism is secondary to getting one over the Shinners despite the pseudo-outrage at full force.
Could ye not decide what you're outraged about in advance? It looks fierce watery when you're moaning about aul posh bird champagne socialist, doesn't know a f*ck about the North Mary-Lou on one hand while estoling the virtues of someone with genuine generational paramilitary connections on the other because she doesn't like the Shinners.
I presume you are talking about Maria Cahill?
He is showing he hasn't really a clue. Posted on twitter the other day about the hundred of consultants SF would hire if they went into government. Few issues "Up da Ra" Cullinan.
Has SF hidden a couple of hundred consultants behind the couch or something? or can they just shake the tree and they fall out
Plus other minor issue, the plan is to tax anyone on good wages, that would be consultants. So while he is hiring all these consultants he is also telling all the existing ones he is cutting their wages.
SF really haven't a clue, just populist politics and if they implemented the great plan it would end up with consultants walking out of Ireland instead of coming to ireland.
I think the problem is not a lot is going on and hence why these people are going.
Quite difficult to figure out what your point is ?
I think it's something along the lines of "It's not Sinn Fein fault, please look at ...." Not sure who the look at is supposed to be I think it is Mairia Cahill, I think MLMD is supposed to the the "aul posh bird champagne socialist"
What a disturbing post.
Implying that Mairia Chaill has deeper links to paramilitarism than Mary-Lou.
A dose of reality is needed for some people around here.
The "get the victim" mentality is still alive and well among SF defenders.
They also want to cut consultants' pay!!!
Like any army by the sounds. Why should they be viewed any differently? You seem to have trouble understanding who the IRA were. You can disagree of course but there are those who wouldn't.
As I understand it she's no problem with wealthy people just those making off the housing crisis. Any in her own party would be taxed as much. You could even say despite millionaires in SF she's still going after them?
