Who has the energy to search back through the thread? (Bring back Moonunit).
It was a French report if I remember correctly, it said 3 diares, 1995, 96 & 97 were missing. 97 being blank obviously.
Who was the source for the stolen diaries?
I'd doubt there ever were any diaries.
The bottle of wine sounds like somebody might have stolen it before the murder and then didn't want to be found with it after, so disposed of it.
Yes it is Drumm. There`s no denying that.
I knew it couldn`t be Paragon of Sense
And the doors clearly on the latch in the picture, it should open with a push.
People Of Schull
very common acronym
As does the full bottle of wine which is awfully hard to believe wasn't connected to the events that unfolded. If Daniel and herself were honestly getting on better perhaps she visited Ireland to sever ties with them before retuning to France. The fact she wanted company makes me think she knew the person was volatile.
Ah no Jim.....you misunderstand me. I`ve given up explaining about the door on the latch. Sometimes people just can`t see the wood because of all the darned trees. Sorry to disappoint you. What does P.O.S mean?
If Alfie Lyons killed her he wouldn't have had the foggiest notion she kept diaries. Seems to me like this person was acutely aware of how she worked. ie. Past romantic involvement. I think that eliminates AL and IB. More likely the Bantry detective or the young French student.
I'm coming around to the theory you have been pushing from the start, Garda corruption, and for their own reasons, but I support tibruit and Moonunit in their right to post opposing views. In fact I'd go so far as to say I admire their posts.
If you can back up your own theory don't try and shut down those opposing you.
He can be a bit cutting but you're a big boy. You can take it.
I didn't mean it that way. I wanted to calm down things and not having a go at anybody. Yes, I noted that one user was a bit strong.
In the end, none of us were there on that fateful night. In absence of solid evidence tying murderer to weapon and crime scene, it's really just a speculation.
This poster has been derogatory towards a number of other posters for no reason just because it didnt suit his/her narrative. If someone is going to give it, be prepared to take it. There is no need for the numerous smart & disrespectful comments he/she has made to other posters.
So think twice before you start having a go at me
There is no need for language like that. It's been 25 years, and no real evidence only speculation with a handful of possible options.
In reality the case is a tough nut to crack at this point. One thing is probably beyond doubt: The Gards did a bad job, at least from solving this crime's perspective, the whole Marie Farrell affair and somebody wanting Sophie out of the way badly, for reasons we have been writing here.
If you don't like the thread, hit the bricks, best thing that ever happened was your idol moonunit leaving it. Set up your own little thread together the two of you, see how many people would be interested. little to none id imagine.
You make the most ridiculous accusations & then offer completely ridiculous theories yourself. Do us all a favor you P.O.S.
I think the comment on the timeline states it is likely a time error, maybe it is was 2 instead of 2:30. Yvonne Ungerer was hours out with her time the next day. These errors are standard enough during witness statements.
Or to remove letter / diaries that in which they were named.
The housekeeper mentioned Bruno was with Sophie at the time she raised it. So 3 years?
Any idea how long before her death was the intruder using her bath?
So was it a poker, which would be inside by the fire-place,
or a kindling axe which was supposedly outside in a wood basket?
They used go to bed early with the windows closed.
Why would somebody want to go back in the house? To return the poker that Josephine said was missing and which had been pulled out of Sophie's hand? Where could it be?
"So my point is.... Surely finbarr would know if the hire car was in the drive at that time or not..."
You would think he would know, if he was there.
I give up.
Don't take that timeline as gospel,
eg; touchdown 2:25 on the road towards west Cork 2:40, having de-planed , collected luggage, collected hire car and loaded up in 15 mins?
probably still waiting for the steps to be rolled out at 2:40.
Praise the Lord that's the end of that.
Ok sorry... Finbar thought he may have seen a shadow in the porch but was suprised that she didn't come out.
This is partly dismissed in the crimeguys timeline (read accross to comments/disputed) as she would probably have been on the way to Schull at 14.30 . prob by wittnesses or bank withdrawl statments (timestamp)
So my point is.... Surely finbarr would know if the hire car was in the drive at that time or not...
"Was her car there or not.??"
was who's car where?
Edit;
Sorry looking at wrong time.
I know the timeline but I don't understand what your point is.
Timeline - 21.12.96 14.30
How can this be a mistake , query ,unknown , not sure....... Was her car there or not.??
If I phone a landline, I could want to speak to any one of the occupants in that dwelling...
