Yeah I found the first half hour went fine but the last half hour was a car crash. Little focus on tax technical knowledge also - some questions really vague. How long did yours last? Mine went on for over an hour (and I'm assuming that's a bad sign in that they kept giving more time to see if I'd tick boxes I obviously wasn't ticking). Was there any insight as to when you would hear back from them and/or how many went for it / were shortlisted?
Was just over 50 mins, they had told me 45 initially but think it was 52mins when I ended the call.
Few follow up questions to answers I thought I had answered ok but seemed like I wasn't giving sufficient detail also.
Didn't get any feedback on timelines or anything about numbers. Assuming there's a few weeks of interviews anyway but as said above I wouldn't be confident of featuring highly (if at all) on any panel.
hi folks, any sign of results or placements for the 2021 ap competition. Had interview two weeks ago and curious to know if others heard since or when we will?
scrap that, got rejected today
Sorry to hear that! Are you going to ask for feedback?
I got my results today, I'm through on 2 panels. The email isn't very clear, but I think my OOM is noted before each panel? Has anyone else gotten results?
This is what my email said:
.. you have been placed on the following panels of successful candidates:
XX Audit & Compliance panel
XX Tax Policy & Legislation panel
Yes, that's your position on each panel
Thank you 😊
Congratulations!
Congrats! I got placed on the Audit & Compliance panel. As I only selected one location, anyone know if my placing is for that location, rather than overall placing? Presume it is...🤷♀️
It's your overall placing
Lord only knows how I got onto the panel. I was sure I screwed up the second half of my interview. Absolutely thrilled. Can someone give me a guide as to what's a good placing on the panel i.e. when can I actually pour a drink to celebrate?
Well done! Do you know how quickly the panel moves - and what's a decent placement on the panel?
It all depends on your location preferences and how many other panellists have selected the same preferences as you. Its hard to know, outside of Dublin, how many Audit & Compliance or Policy & Legislation AP posts will need filling in a particular location. Will depend on numbers retiring and numbers being promoted to P.O.
There is an email address at the end of the email you got today you can contact to find out your placing for your preferred locations. Might give you a better idea of when or if you will be offered a position.
Good luck
congrats, no, i dont think so, I had found sme of the questions very vague during interview and probably didnt answer them the way they wanted..i had looked for clarification once or twice ..anyways it wasnt meant to be :)
to be fair, I think the feedback people sometimes get from these competitions can also be very vague 😄 but I think my panel said I could request their notes or something along those lines if I wanted to know in more detail what they thought/noted down as I was answering their questions. One person from another AP thread on here said they got great feedback from a previous interview they did and it really helped them prepare for their next competition
Hey - just wondering if you emailed them for feedback? I've mailed them over a week ago but radio silence. Thanks
Hi, I didn't ask for feedback, but I did email PanelPlacings to ask for my placing on the regional panels. It was almost a week ago now, and I haven't heard anything. I'd say just about everyone that placed on the panel would have emailed them to ask their regional placings! They should just lay it out in the initial email rather than only giving overall placings. Unless this was a Dublin-only competition?! I honestly can't remember, and I didn't save the information booklet down!
There was Dublin and 19 other counties on the location preferences. I also requested my place on the regional panels over a week ago and have heard nothing back.
No it wasn't Dublin only as I 'vaguely' recall selecting a few counties outside of Dublin also. Still haven't heard anything myself.
If there is an existing panel, is it a case that that would need to be exhausted firstly i.e. if you placed let's say 15 on this panel and there are another 10 to be filled on the previous panel, are you effectively #25 in the queue?
The previous panel expires, so no, you are not behind any unplaced candidates from previous panels.
Has anyone heard of anyone being placed or got any response from panel placings?
I see from the thread “Revenue Internal AP 2019” that that panel has been extended to March 2022 (it was due to expire in October 2021). Does that mean that panel will have to be exhausted first before offers can be made to panels from this competition?
No, I don't think so, this was an external competition, specifically for tax specialists. The AP internal comp will be a separate panel, so we shouldn't have to wait until it's expired before we get called.
I haven't heard anything yet myself, hopefully won't be too long until we at least hear back about our regional placings 🤞🏻
They are separate panels.
Any tax specialist AP vacancies in audit and compliance or policy and legislation will be filled from this panel.
The internal panel will be used for customer service/admin AP vacancies
I got a reply on my panel placings on Friday after I had logged out of work for the weekend, just after seeing them this morning
