The 105 shifter that I ordered on Wednesday from Alltricks.com was delivered from France on Saturday morning. Very happy with that service.
A bike is bike related, right ?
A new Trek FX1 Stagger Disc (for my wife to use) is on it's way. Quite excited.
Need to replace my front shifter and have found it difficult to source a 105 ST-R7000. Most places either don't have them with no idea when they'll get them in or there's a two or three month waiting period.
Found one on alltricks.com for a price (delivered) less than most other places and it was in stock so ordered it yesterday. It is apparently on its way to me with an ETA between Saturday and Tuesday. Can't fault that service at all!
Ordered a few new energy bars to try out. Had went to Wiggle to order, but they only had 6 bars available, way down on there usual stock. Ordered from sigmasports.com instead, first time using them, one issue is you need to spend over €100 for free delivery, otherwise it costs €6
Definitely not just you, the search function on this site has always been painfully useless. Especially annoying when the site was un-navigable for a while there.
Invested in a new, larger sized, round of bib shorts 😔
a cycle specific reflective top will fit better than some generic construction vest which will be flapping about in the wind.
I'm looking for a reflective vest which I can wear at night. I am not sure if I can get it from my closest cycle store for cheap. Or should I look for a construction store? Construction workers also use this :thinks:
new 26" rear mtb wheel, racing ralph and racing ray tyres , thule roof rack wheel carrier
Finally got funds (and a working credit card) and ordered a nice set of Hunt 50mm carbon wheels for the good bike, plus a new chain and new GP5000s. Should all arrive just in time to be put away in the shed for winter!!
from CRC
Ya. It's €35 minimum now before 'free' delivery. And expect it to take most of the 8 working days to be delivered.
I have a brake rotor on its way from bike-components.de. Ordered on Monday and has reached Dublin's postal hub today, Friday, so will probably be Tuesday before it reaches me. Which means I'll miss that sportive I signed up for that's on this weekend.
Minimum purchase for free delivery from Wiggle (for me at least) is €35.
I have a bottom bracket on the way from them. There wasn't any delivery charge. Maybe there's minimum purchase or something. The 8 days is correct but maybe that's because it's not coming from Belfast but god knows where with multiple distribution sites.
It's not just you. The search facility is shite on a phone anyway. Can't even sort results by date from what I can see.
I've more or less given up on Chain Reaction especially since Brexit. I used Alltricks last October for the first time and have continued to buy from them. Generally much cheaper than CRC.
New Scribes!
Ordered a set of Pace rims today and should have them at the end of the month.
They were taken over by Wiggle a few years ago. A couple of months ago, I ordered from CRC and Bike24 within 5 minutes of each other. The German order was with me a few days earlier (and was actually the bigger packaging).
Just on non-eu from Ali - some are adding VAT to the order in checkout, which is supposed to get around issues. Haven't tested it yet, but starting to look at the winter commuting gear...
Whereabouts from? 'Twas chain cleaner I was endeavouring to order myself.
Continental 4 Seasons 25mm with Spare Tubes
Chain Cleaner
MucOff Cleaning supplies
Chain Checker
new bottle cage screws for my hybrid
Jesus Christ lads, am I just fat or, fat AND stupid. I can't seem to get any joy from the Boards search facility at all. I don't know how to narrow down the search to one section. I give up.
Anyway, I know there are threads on Chainreaction cycles and post brexit shopping but I simply can't find them
Had intended a couple of things to be winging their way to me from CRC but at checkout I see 4.99 euro shipping to the Irish republic and 8 working days estimated delivery???!!
WTF? -That's new. I knew wiggle were that way, but I didn't think CRC were. :(
I'm a fan of bikes. And one of my dreams is to buy one. But so far it's just a dream. I still have to save and save.
Saw a special offer in Decathlon for Brooks B17 Imperial at €87 euro so picked one up for the turbo bike. Had been trying out the Cambium C17 but didn't get on with it that well, so it's different flavours of B17 on all three bikes.
Favero Assioma Duo pedals. Finally pulled the trigger on these last night and ordered from Cigala cycling. First foray into power meter land for me outside of the indoor trainer.
I had been waiting on the SPD SL versions but the increased Q factor turned me off when they announced the kits in July. I would have gone for the Garmin SDP SL pedals if the pricing was lower.
So after years on SPD SL I'm switching back to the Look system. Which is what I was on pre SPD SL anyway nearly 20 yrs ago. Leaves me with 3 X SPD SL redundant pedal sets though.
Shimano gear cable set
Brake pads for my hybrid
BB30 bearings
Chain lube
Chamois cream
Purchased from both CSS and CRC.
Bit of an expensive purchase but hopefully worth it with winter approaching. Just ordered a Tacx Neo 2t trainer from:
Even with shipping it's about a €100 cheaper than anywhere else.
Also got myself a Lifeline Trainer Table and mat, Mabel is basically a rip-off of the one made by Wahoo but at like half the cost. You can find both on Wiggle.
A couple of helmets from Planet X which apparently have been returned to them without delivery ever having been attempted ...
I beam saddle,9 speed chaain, xt wheel axle, grips, formula R1 brake pads
ordered this last Thurs, turned up on Sunday. My saddle snapped and needed something to try out
Two things happened today. I got paid, and I got an email from Galibier about their new Piste jersey, with a code for a tenner off the first hundred orders.
I combined both of these events, and now one of those jerseys is on its way to me
Galibier Torment 2 waterproof light jacket (fits in back pocket). Got a 115km Club charity cycle in mid August so handy to have this with me.
