No, Usyk. I misread your post!
Fury 10-10…too big and will do a Usyk on Usyk..
Was wondering! because I agree, Usyk beat Wilder all day long, only worry is the one hit kill by wilder.
He came across really well in the DAZN interview, was brutally honest in his assessment. Thought Tony Bellew was also very good tonight as a pundit ... even though he's an Evertonian!
Rematch is part of this deal? Pretty sure its up to AJs camp to trigger it if they wish, as they will.
What a performance, like a lot of fighters, Usyk is at his best when he’s up against it.
I remember gassiev going in favourite against him and Usyk boxed his ears off, think his first couple of fights at heavyweight was just him adjusting to the weight more than anything.
As soon as I saw that Anatoly was back in Usyk’s corner it was only going one way, a good big un beats s good little un, a great little un makes handy work of a decent big un
There's no good fights for Joshua.
A rematch with Usyk and he has to go and knock him out early, that'll leave him open to a skilled Usyk landing precision punches, and Joshua hates getting hit and will wilt once that happens.
He can outbox Wilder, but he can't avoid the big punches for 12 rounds, if Ruiz and Usyk can hurt him Wilder's big punches would worry him too much.
Fury can fight Joshua a few different ways, wins 9 out of 10 times. There's a chance Joshua can find some of the power that defined his career before Ruiz but it's an outside shot.
Time for Joshua to get out with money in the bank and his faculties intact.
If Joshua takes the rematch his only chance is to put on a stone or two and put his weight on Usyk as much as possible. I just think his best move right now is to try to make the Wilder fight happen, the rematch is going to be near impossible to win. Even looking elsewhere in the division.. an Otto Wallin type I'd worry for AJ, I think Otto could beat him.
Fury...similar level boxers but Tysons so much bigger
I think tyson beats them all best in the division.
I don't think Usyk has a hope against Fury.
Yes, Usyk signed a 3 fight deal with Hearn, bellow. AJ x 2, that how matchroom rolls even dillian got a rematch after been sparked
Tbf, there's always a chance Fury comes on horrifically out of shape. He's struggled with much worse fighters than Usyk before cos of it.
Shocking ppv btw, bar the main I’m pretty sure the other matches had a favourite that was 1/25 minimum? Joke shop
Chisora put up a much better fight that AJ
Yes. At least he fooking tried. AJ showed a complete lack of desire…it wasn’t just poor, it wasn’t just Usyk. He had no real desire..
AJ just isn't a seasoned fighter. He is an athlete who took up boxing late.
He needs to change trainer, get out of his comfort zone in UK. McCracken is a yes man.
I don't think the trainer is the problem.
There's no fix for AJ's problem.
McCracken is a hack. Froch was blessed with ridiculous stamina and chin and could make a half decent attempt at throwing a few punches when it mattered. Joshua is a genetic freak. Coaching has done very little for them it was all their own doing. When **** hit the fan against Ruiz they were all clueless in the corner. All they did tonight was shout "brilliant" for 12 rounds and look where it got them. If they didn't ring the bell early in the 12th there could have been a stoppage.
AJ can't beat him in a rematch and he would never beat someone like Fury. Hopefully he just steps away now there isn't really anywhere else for him to go.
I don't think AJ has a problem, he's just not a great boxer and that won't change.
I think Fury
Yep corner was atrocious. That’s a shocking way to send a champ out even in the last couple of rounds. It’s as though they wanted him to avoid the ko rather than keep the belts.
Some of the talk here is a bit premature. Joshua did put a few dents on Usyk. There was a round or two in it at the end of th e9th imo and thenUsyk did take over. But Joshua did get some decent digs in.Part of me thinks that a proper coach and corner would greatly improve him.
I heard the brilliant calls too. They were saying that when Joshua was just standing there. He;s been surrounded by too many yes men for too long in addition to other limitations that the corner can’t do much about.
He will 100% be back and I wouldn’t bet against him becoming a belt holder again. (I am aware my betting calls didn’t come in tonight). He was poor tonight and in patches did ok. He didn’t go out on his shield and he should have. He met a wonderful boxer who produced the performance of his life. Lots of split second things could’ve gone his way but didn’t. He’s a huge threat still.
AJs problem tonight night was desire. He had next to none…I kept waiting for him to give it a proper go!!
Usyk had plenty of it, and wanted to win..
The lack of desire and urgency throughout from AJ was truly bizarre.
He also looked completely disjointed and awkward. I know he can be upright and stiff, but by jaysus tonight he took it to a new level
His biggest problem was the man infront of him is better than him in every way possible to be fair. Could give Joshua all the desire in the world and he's still not getting the better of that fight.
He's also been quite visibly spooked as a fighter since the first Ruiz fight. That killer instinct he had previously is long gone. There was only ever one winner tonight. Just levels between them.
Reminded me a bit like Holyfield / Tyson, they could fight 20 times and the result would be the same.
Uysk is on a different planet to Ruiz. The notion that a rematch would result in an AJ win is nonsense in my view.
I think the last time I seen that speed and activity level in a heavyweight fight was back when Tua fought Ibeabuchi.
I absolutely recognize Usyk’s role here..
But right from the start AJ fought with very little desire and passion. He just looked awful
Coming out for round 4 he looked like a man wanting out..and it wasn’t like the fight had even started.
The Ruiz point is spot on. I just wasn’t expecting that it had crippled him that much. He looked a novice like cripple last night
Speed and activity and commitment was very one-sided. I rated last night’s fight as a 6.5/7/10…
