Hmmm - Rang dealer told to call VW emergency assist. Waiting 14 mins before someone answered. They then took nearly 5 mins to put me through to ID emergency assist - now queued with them. My car is in the drive, Id hate to get stuck on the side of the road with these clowns

The boot lid is made of plastic so not rated to carry anything.
I don’t know what the official line is but I wasn’t happy with the way my saris bones sat on the roof and bumper.
Maybe if you were less fussy/paranoid you could get away with it.

I wouldnt get the use out of to justify that, that's the price of a new bike. are the standard hatch tie on bike racks suitable for the ID3?
1300 fitted but its not a trailer hitch, its just for bikes, too high up for a trailer.

wifes ID3 has 0 screens working. Wife went out in the car, worked fine. I decided to take it instead of my own car and I noticed the screens are black and none of the driver aids are working ( including parking sensors )
Maybe just a reset on something, but its sort of undrivable with no speedo
I have the Thule hang down - cheaper option than the carriers.
they’re usually available on the second hand websites too. Although having bought a new car maybe it’s a meaningless saving?
Anyway, it works well as would any other towbar mounted rack I reckon.
The big disadvantage is that the rear plate is no longer visible which is probably, technically, illegal.
i could stick a light board and plate on, but it would be messy and would negate the simple cheap option I’ve opted for.

If you have the trailer hitch then I'd say any hitch mouted bike rack will work
are their third party Bike racks for the ID3? Im guessing the VW one is pricey
Did you get the entered production status from the dealer or are you basing it on the production week supplied by the dealer?
Build week 36 here on a Tour - just entered production here. How long from the first day of production has it taken those who went for one?

For the contacts - In the phone settings, bluetooth, VW Connected device, make sure that Contact Sharing is selected.
For some reason my phone will disable the contact sharing randomly and I have to re-select it from time to time.

just took delivery of My ID 3 Life Pro, slate silver. Drove back from the dealers in Waterford, to Cork.
Ordered the car July 6 so I think I'm one of the lucky ones to have had it delivered in only 12 weeks .
Been reading the blogs the last few months on peoples opinions , have to say it is an awesome machine..
Big learning curve on the Infotainment screen but will get there in the end. All part of the fun of an EV.
Have a big smile on my face now when passing a Petrol Station.

Any advice on the Importing of contact's to the car..Phone connected, weConect app all good, but contact importing button not registering.
Turn it off on the country roads, really dangerous on some roads with tight turns. Doesn’t bother me in towns (it’s not on) on motorways, N roads or any wide road with clear road markings.
