I was there for the first time in ages recently. Definitely a great update, the store was a little dated looking. I don't think it was updated since the 90s?
Apart from new lighting and new flooring a couple of years ago I don't think they did much more to it. The whole outside is being done too. All the old redbrick is being covered over. Its a big job they are doing inside and out!
Is Quinlans in the Horan centre a fish & chip takeaway or just a fish shop
T.
They will be doing fish & chips too.
Competition for mj. Their fish is super. 2 pieces in the box.
Does anyone know what was going on out by Ballygarry yesterday (Sat)? There were loads of cars parked up along the road and there were people standing around as if waiting for something. There were even people on the bypass bridge and along that road too!
The cannonball run...boys and their expensive toys... Ferrari's Lamborghini's etc driving through Ireland
Waiting for some cars in the pouring rain, how exciting! 😁 Drove over to Manor and back and didn't spot one fancy car!
They passed by the end of my road. Was heading to slea head with the family so passed a load of them. Not a day for standing around tralee🙁
In fairness, this was about 10 million worth of cars, not the usual lads with go-faster stickers and boo pipes on their diesel passat. Great crowds in Cork and all over the county yesterday to see them
Each to their own, not my idea of a day out!
they are a business representative group for the town of Tralee so advertising Tralee, networking with each other, approaching politicians for grants. The kiosk in the mall was paid for by chamber alliance it had volunteers giving out tourist information while the (tourist office was closed) Killarney and dingle were open
A new phone shop in Castle street!! Hon the chamber alliance 😂😂
It's where O'Carroll's fruit and veg shop used be all those years ago....Dar is the name over the door...if I was to guess, I'd think there's a link to Raja's takeaway across the road
I can never understand how there's so many of them opening. There must be 3/4 in Castel Street alone! I was in Castleisland the other day and seen there's another opening there as well!
There was a crash on the Bracker O'Regan road last night and it is still closed this morning. It was between a car and a motorbike. I don't think anyone was killed.
Traffic must have been awful up Caherslee this morning!
Was in Tralee town centre yesterday for the first time in a long time. Great buzz and nice to see students back. The nice sunshine helped as well, very positive impression on my brief visit and coffee stop.
I was thinking the same about the students when I noticed them around Oakpark yesterday. Great to see them back to college and the town!
Yes
Can anyone tell me if there are any decent clothes/country clothing shops in town? Gents and ladies. I know Ryle clothing but is there anything else, I don’t want to take the trouble of driving all the way to Tralee if it will disappoint.
There's a good choice of clothing shops for men and women in Tralee.
Are they “decent” shops? I don’t want high street chains.
There's more independent shops in Tralee than chains, so more local owned shops. I guess you will have to decide for yourself what is decent as everyone has their own preference. I personally like Vero Moda and Safura for womens fashion, but they are chains. Quite a few mens shops around where Ryles are.
I went into Shaws today for the first time in a long time. I wanted to have a look in their Mango concession section but I was quite pleasantly surprised by the changes they have made in there. They have moved the shoe section upstairs, and now have a cosmetics and fragrance section just inside the door. Upstairs seems to have a lot more of a selection now and the shoes look much better up there. Its actually not a bad shop. I am personally delighted to see Mango there as I love that shop! Hopefully they will get in some more 'names' to bring in more people.
Apparently, Des and Gemma Hurley are taking over Dish.
Very close relations of Paul and Aileen.
Meet me at Phillies is on the move too, from their place in the shop at Caheranne to a new location. The facebook page didn't say where to though. I hope he does well, his food is very nice.
Hopefully a town centre location as their menu/food pics look great!
Looks like theirs someone going into the former croi restaurant in the square. Plenty of activity around there today with trademen etc.
There food is worth it - the owner really takes care and pride in his food and is very good with portion sizes.
The would occasionally run out of food and have to close early. I like to see that - for me it shows a good movement of food and he isn't stockpiling meats etc...
We enjoy going to Phillies and if he has a town center location, that will be perfect
I see that Celsius is going into the old Minx/Wildpair unit in the Mall. I don't know if they are moving or opening another shop (which would be odd so close to the first one!). They move premises a lot!
They are advertising for staff so maybe it’s a second shop. Possibly one shop for formal wear like suits and the other for casual wear.
