Anyone buy off golfdiscount.com
Prices seem great, especially the tp5 practice balls. I assume i pay 23% vat on purchase but that it. Also some of the clubs are a lot cheaper than they would be in ireland. Am i missing anything else?
I've always been told, and have heard it countless times on TV about how your putting grip should be soft, how you shouldn't grip it hard, etc. The problem I have when I do this is that the club feels loose in my hands, and swings in my hands during the backswing, leading to inconsistency at impact.
If I grip it a bit tighter, where it doesn't feel loose in my hands, I sometimes get this yippy thing where my wrists twist right at impact. It's bloody annoying!! It only happens when I have my right hand below left, which is my preferred way. How firmly do you grip the putter?
Try to relax your wrists on the down stroke only so it doesn't feel like a noodle on the way back.
I find I hit more on line putts this way compared to a strong grip throughout but putting is very player specific
While watching the Ryder Cup one of the golfers on the Sunday nearly had a double tap (hitting the ball twice on the same shot) so to speak and the commentator said, it would have been ok as the rules have now changed. I wasn't aware of the rule change. When did it come in to play?
About 2 years ago I think when they started applying common sense to the rule book.
Anybody know if there’s a way to check the South Munster Seniors golf results? Father won yesterday in Cahir and I wanted to check the results.
Someone got lunch on their mind 🤣
.....
I'd say it'll show up on this link in the next day or two hopefully ;)
That’s just defaulting to the usual home page results for my club though! Dunno if it’ll show there as it was a scramble ha
Can't delete? Lol
God I hate this website
Does anyone know the price of a Buggy in The Heritage?
Open Singles is €40 per person on Mondays but we can get Green Fees for €55 per person with a buggy included. If the buggies are €30 or less we might as well play the comp. Can't seem to find the price online.
Played recently and it was €20 per buggy.
So, with whatsapp down, i can't ask my regular clique to clarify. Figured this is as good a thread as any to get the answer.
With the rebranding of the courses in the K Club, which of the 2 is the Ryder Cup course, the North or South?
If I'm reading that correctly, you would like to play the Open and rent a buggy if reasonable?
I could be wrong but I assume you would need a medical exemption if you wanted to use a buggy during a comp...
Yeh I figured that out not long after. We are going ahead with doing green fees and getting the buggy just for comfort purposes and in case weather isn’t great.
The North is the Ryder Cup Course.
Cheers Boccy
Just on this. At this time of the year be prepared to be VERY cold using a buggy. At least when you are walking you will stay warm but if there is any bit of a chill be prepared to be cold for 3-4 hours
Have used Buggies in the winter numerous times throughout my life and have never found it rough in the cold.
I have always thought a simple solution to slow play is to have buggies for each group that goes out. That’s a lot of buggies I know but it would def speed up play
People like walking.
Any slow players I have played have arent that slow walking to the ball, its once they get there they take 4 practice swings, then decide to get a different club instead, then another 4 practice swings, then they get into position to hit the ball and are completely still for about 30 seconds before finally hitting it and slicing it into the trees. Another minute is then spent by them cleaning the club before they finally head towards the trees.
It would be interesting to do a trial run of this. I wonder if there's a course in Ireland that would be in a position to test this out on their members for one comp and post the results here and any other unexpected learnings, ie people loved it/hated it or many simply refused buggies nullifying any of the benefits at all.
not a fan of buggies tbh would prefer to walk
but they defo speed up game.
Buggies with 1 person in them speed up the game. Buggies where 2 people are in them not so much because tom has hit his drive into the trees on the left and joe has hit his drive into the trees on the right.
Agreed, amazing that 2 man buggies seen to be the norm when one man buggies would be much better and kinder to the course.
I find 2 person buggies actually speed things up. More typical, one player drives into trees. Other player on fairway. Player on fairway can go ahead and play his second shot and have 2 persons free to look for other ball.
Understand that feeling but in a pure speed perspective it would have to improve things
