Moonunit will clear it all up
Of course Bailey cant be ruled as being the murderer. The evidence proving this though is very poor and when you look at it logically he is probably least likely from the list of possibilities/suspects. He appears to have no motive, he didnt know her well ( just knew of her), gave a dna sample willingly. The sketchy evidence there is can be explained or argued against. The list of 'witness's' or characters against him are not reliable to say the least.
Sophie led a very complicated and colourful life. There are other suspects and theories who appear not to have been investigated at all - add to this the gardai shenanigans and really your left thinking Ian Bailey probably is innocent.
Its laughable but Ian Bailey appears somewhat normal compared to some of the characters involved in this case!
Moonunit seems to have disappeared. I think he/she may have given up and gone to join the Ian Bailey supporters club.
Jules Thomas is an accessory to murder?
He may have confronted Bailey with the intention of getting a confession on tape, but whereabouts are unknown now... there are unconnected reports that Bailey has been seen with scratches and a new black coat.
@ odyssey - Irish times timeline is in decades.
What I'm looking for is the 48 hour timeline.
What is known & what is disputed...
And a list of her regular contacts...
I have a theory but just want to see if anyone else sees it.. before I add more speculation to this mess
A 48 hour would be interesting alright with all the main characters included along with any reported sightings/statements. Wonder could we do one up in Google Sheets....We'll solve it yet! 😁
New thread?
Crime guy uk has done a pretty decent one recently. Check out his website anyway tho as his work on the case is excellent.

Was just going to post the same - https://crimeguy.com/
I've never seen any video interview of Shirley Foster, the person who first came on the victim. I'm sure she would have been able to give her impressions of that weekend as far as there being anything remarkable in the area. Strange that. Alfie always seems to have done the talking.
Ah that's very good. A very detailed timeline. Thanks.
stupid remark because you have no answer. Sophie was bleeding. To carry her would mean a trail of blood. Plus the killer would then be walking in the blood and leaving bloody footprints trail. Nothing like this was found
maybe he reported it to the garda and the garda lost him
You can convict on the basis of circumstantial evidence but the DPP didn't think this was enough, I imagine that he felt it looked like there was no motive. Now if they're had been some facts backing up the circumstantial evidence like how Sophie had to change locks because of someone coming into her house while she was away or the fact that she died by a gate which it seems had been the focus of some rancour with, likely, the same person, well who knows?
is it accepted by all that on the night of the murder Bailey predicted something awful would happen over there .
where is the timeline? Why is there a big re rectangle halfway down this site
It's near the bottom. If you sign up for the free downloads it's easier to access all his work.
No. He had a feeling something bad was going to happen in a general sense... I havent seen it definitively stated 'over there'.
There was a full moon, lots of reports of animals being unusually loud / alert from 10pm. Possibly due to foxes ... possibly due to unusual activity in the area.
Members of the jury... how many times have you had such a premonition... and nothing happened in the next 24 hours.
See the DPP report Premonition section.

Just a point - anyone who thinks the gardai did their job properly or think the gardai have nothing to hide should read up on the case of Joanne Hayes.
The gardai were even able to fool the judge.
It took until 2018 - 31 years later - for the acting commissioner to acknowledge that the gardai were wrong
Funny, it's not too far from Schull and same Garda district.
If she was killed without much in the way of bleeding first and afterwards especially with the skull crushed her blood could have been spread wherever the killer(s) wanted it to be seen.
It might if true explain why there was a need to use a concrete block when she was probably already dead. Covering/obliterating another wound or method of killing.
Id go further, anyone condoning the actions of the gards in this case, is either a gard, acting on behalf of them or heavily connected to them through family or otherwise.
Its defending the indefensible, its shocking and we all should demand more accountability from the gards. GSOC as has been shown is a joke, unless we have a proper authority who police the police, this will happen again & again. They have no qualms about ruining innocent peoples lives & reputations. This case is no doubt one of many in a long list with regard to garda corruption & malpractice yet no one ever faces any consequences.
I think Jules has denied she said that. I could be wrong though.
Embedded PDF. You might need to allow cookies to view it there.
Here's the PDF timeline from the crime guy site.
The author put a lot of work into that. Should really contact him to check if it is ok to share it.
Don't be shy, or wait for someone to issue you an invitation. If you have a new theory we will all be glad to hear it.
But unless you have some new information I'd be very very surprised if your theory hasn't already been discussed somewhere on this very very long thread.
It's freely available to download, if he was concerned about it being shared that wouldn't be the case.
He's a personal friend, it's in the public domain
