It's dear for what it is and also dear for location.
And them Damn evergreens.
That house in Knock is really stuck in a time warp.
Love the tartan carpet in photos 19 & 20, perfect for someone who wants christmas all year round!
The Knock one was curious and sad in equal measure. It seemed well looked after until relatively recently. The Leylandi not being kept back. The decking looked like it might have been for an elderly person to be able to safely enjoy the outside garden. The mobility stroller in the bedroom. The dress hanging in the bedroom suggested an elderly lady. 5 bedrooms, but not a single family photo on a wall. Maybe the EA removed them before the photos. But they left lots of other things, the books/photo albums on the sofa, the delph in the bedroom that could have been there since a small Covid-era wake. It didn't seem to me like there are close family left. Whoever lived there, lived there all their adult life going by the decor. I'm not going to post any links, but I'm fairly confident that this is what happened.
Yep looks as though someone has seen out their last days in that one. photo albums piled up on the chaise lounge looking thing and picture frames on the floor. Most likely an inheritance property that's been moved on. nice bones of a house but little upkeep the last while, deck would likely need replacing but I'd say there's a nice view behind that Leylandii, the furniture is almost back in retro cool territory.
A lot of house though compared to what you'd see in some places.
There was a nice view behind the Leylandii until the Celtic Tiger went and dropped a housing estate there.
A 5 bed that close to Knock and no kids was almost certainly a B&B during its heyday.
[Edit] Just realised I stayed in a B&B almost directly opposite that house back in the early 90s. Myself and the cousin on a booze bus to Croagh Patrick for the weekend. (we were the only ones boozing) Locked out in more ways than one when we got back hammered from the International at 1am. Ended up sleeping in the porch https://goo.gl/maps/KQZZLhRHoPUHCpxj8 until we were discovered at 4am by my uncle. The shame at breakfast.
Seems Fr. Horan not only built an airport in Knock (well, Charlestown!) but he's also now built a motorway between Galway and Sligo!
Monsignor Horan to you, sonny boy!!!
And some of that road is motorway (ok, maybe not the bit near Knock, but it's only a matter of time.... 🤣)
You'll never make an estate agent if you go around insisting on pesky facts like that!
could be a dark sky location ?
Probably, maybe I'm just noticing them because I'm looking at Kilkenny. They probably appear in other houses around the country but it stood out to me that I've seen a fair few in the houses I've looked at in Kilkenny.
I really like this house. it is beautiful
And also it's Marian, not Marion. Small thing but it caught my eye.
And Basilica not Basicila.
You never know what goes on behind the doors of the suburban nice home.....
Looks like it was used as a.... venue...
It's a massive house! Seems buttons for such big property
is that a polite term for brothel? the stripper pole is an interesting addition.
What's with all the steel on the windows. In before it's America you need them... 🤣
If you are a couple called Tommy and Jayden and you are looking for a room together I might just have the place.
What the hell is written on the walls. Is it two guys names or a guy and a girl. I don't even know.
..
This is the seller,, he's moved to Vegas, looks like a poorly decorated party house as opposed to my initial thought of knocking shop.
I'd say the entire place would need fumigating tbh.
Those telescopes also look similar to the cameras which do 360° walkthroughs

Bit of a stretch to put it into a thread with the word 'house' in the title but I wonder in the immediate years to come will we see more of this. I'd have no issue living on a large yacht somewhere sunny but a small old boat in wintery Ireland, I can't imagine it'd be all that pleasant.
No less pleasant than some of the crappy apartments we have now. Mooring fees aren't cheap mind.
Everyone knows the 2 happiest days of a boaters life.
My friend lived on a boat in that marina for 5 years. It's tough going!
Not everyone, please enlighten.
It looks lovely and well kept, but it is just a studio apartment with the occasional earthquake problem.
The day you buy it and the day you sell it.
Property in Texas is good value. When I visited friends in Texas I was shocked .
That was €78,000 last month or thereabouts. I was looking at boats and that came up.
Seriously though, who would live in a house like this...?
