RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
I'm finding them ads annoying tbh
Hinds is hardly in it to be fair. His character is fairly generic so far so he doesn't have much to work with
You mean Emmet J. Scanlan. If you look back at this thread, you will see all the different tv series and films he has been involved in.
Keith McEarlean, who plays Doyler, had a small part in the film Sing Street, a film which has been mentioned on this thread already. TV dramas he was connected with include Raw (RTE), Bachelors Walk (RTE) and Vikings. Conor Mullen, who plays the father of Amanda (Clare Dunne), was in the following TV dramas (amongst others): Red Rock (Virgin Media), Rough Diamond, Holby City, Heartbeat, Single Handed (RTE), Deception, Fair City (RTE) and Smothered (RTE). He was also in at least one gangster film - Ordinary Decent Criminal.
This show is the worst show on the TV. Its beyond cringe

What’s the difference between that and the sex scene that proceeded it?
it’s surely fine
The most disgusting thing about that scene is Frank didn't cum.
Quails egg is getting cracked next week.
Overall it's not too bad, Clare Byrne is excellent. I can't take Ciaran Hinds seriously, I normally like his work but this is definitely not his best work.
The name Caolán for a gangster is not credible either, he should be Deano or Whacker or ......
I'm enjoying it...bit disgusting though the part where Aidan Gillan's character is getting sucked off by a bloke ...why do that. Besides that it's building into a good story
It's on AMC+ on Thursday (subscription required, but there's a 7 day trial available). The link is a few pages back. Otherwise you'll have to wait til next Sunday to see it on RTE
Is Frank not the uncle of those 3 brothers?
The Frank being secretly gay smacks of writers being short on original ideas
Poor episode tonight. Nothing happened.
Lots of staring into the camera, drinks being poured into glasses, cars driving by etc.
Ah sure might aswell throw a sex scene into it as well.
Do we have to wait another week for episode 3? I want to see some shootings and Frank's son Eric doesn't seem like a great choice for a head of the families son. His mates aren't great goons.
Tbh Im kinda enjoying it, I had a feeling not much would happen in this episode as it dealt with Jamie's Death so it would seem a bit strange for anything other than that to be the focus of this episode. This will then set up the rest of the series.
I do reckon though this programme would be one that would have benefitted from being released all at once rather than over a few weeks. Either way, not bad so far.
The music is atrocious. Reminds me of Christmas 87 when Santa brought me 32 key Casio keyboard with 100 instrument sounds.
Ah well, I suppose frank got a bit of relief there anyway.
A very good start last week
Would agree this episode is painfully slow though, they'll probably drag this out to 3 or 4 episodes more than it needs
I am bored tonight . All I hear is dont touch Caolán Moore
It's not great tonight
In fairness, this show probably has a massive budget compared to Love/Hate.
We all forget how mediocre Love/Hate was in its first season. There's mileage in Kin I think, let's see how this season goes.
Just be thankful yer man wasn’t in need of a Barry white ...
Guy playing Jimmy is a terrible actor
Very slow.
Add in the music and very mopey.
He chooses carefully and doesn't spread himself thin. Last few were Killing Eve, Mosaic, Death & Nightingales, London Spy and The Fall. Six series in six years, turns down far more than he accepts.
Presume Holmes was offered his usual fee and duly agreed.
Gotta disagree. The music from David Holmes is very subtle and I think we'll all be impressed with it by season's end. They did very well to get him.
That could mean a lot of different things to an American audience 🤣
