You passed your vetting before your PCA and medical? I thought the vetting result came after? I've done my PCA and online learning. Haven't got a date for medical yet.
Hate to be a downer but is anyone available else worried that if Stormont collapses in the next month or so then the recruitment will cease? I'm not sure how it would work.
Recruitment campaigns took place during the 3 years that stormont didn't sit from 2017-2020 so theres little chance an ongoing campaign will stop
Hi all, I've just discovered this forum, I'm appointable from last week in August, 30-40 on merit list. Hopefully get a call for November intake. Can anyone give me some info on what to expect on the induction weekend? e.g what to wear etc. Also anyone who has made it to GV, what the hours are like, how wages work in first few months etc. Thanks in advance.
I have to redo PCA, vetting was sent away before my first attempt.
There's a post a couple of pages back about what to wear, etc. From memory it's business attire.
Hi, welcome! I am also appointable but further back than in u in the ML, so u will probably get the call at the end of this month. I have been following this forum for a year now, so i can answer most of your questions. So, for induction weekend - wear business attire. Hours like it's business working hours Mon to Fri but. u have some weekends to go in as well. Re salary - £21,189 while being a trainee and £24,780 when appointed as probationary constable after training. Good luck mate.
Plus a 3 and half grand allowance added to that as well isn't it? They haven't updated the candidate guidebook from 2019 so it could have changed since as well.
not sure mate. I have heard of some allowances but not entirely sure if u get these during training or after and how much. The more the better :)
Glad to say I finally passed vetting, huge weight of my shoulders. Medical next and hopefully that's me👍
Congrats! That's a big step forward xx
I am in the same boat. got my vetting email this morning. still no word on a medical date yet though but given my ML position, 500-550, i dont think i would be getting a call until the middle of next year anyway
Congrats pal - I would hope for a Jan Feb one. December being really hopeful.
What are the chances of people being in the 300-350 getting a call to start training by December ? Anyone have any rough ideas? Just waiting on my medical coming back but all other stages passed.
High chance i would say
Folks, bit of positive news today for anyone a bit further down the end of the ML. Got an email advising we’ll be progressing into vetting/PCA/Medical very soon. Best of luck! :)
Good man for sharing that! Good luck. What ML range are u in? xx
I’m 800-820, so a bit further down compared to others, but we’ll get there in the end lol
That's a good sign showing in my opinion that they intend to exhaust fully the ML. I am 300-330 but still no call for a start date yet although having passed all stages, but hopefully things get moving for all of us x
Hopefully you get the call soon!! Can imagine you’ll hear something within the next month or two hopefully
I wonder if the next series of calls will go out next week or the week after.... any ideas anyone? Thanks x
My vetting forms have been away 12 weeks now. PCA done 4 weeks and still no word on the medical. I'm 500 to 550 on the ML. I'll not be worrying yet, as I'm sure it'll be next year before a start date anyway.
My vetting came back this week. Same ML group as you and got my PCA done last month. But still waiting on the medical date although I think you are right in that we wont be getting a start date until next year. possibly closer to the middle of next year depending on those with lower ML's having passed all stages
Hi All,
Good to see everyone progressing nicely, had my medical and drug test last Thursday, yet to hear back about the SMT. Was just wondering how long it took everyone's to come back?
Hi, my medical took 2 working days and the smt took 10 days. After that u become appointable if u have passed vetting and physical.
Roughly where are you on the merit list. Be interesting to know where they are up to for the medicals.
I was between 400-410 on merit list
Long time lurker on here…finally got vetting forms at end of august.
Anyone around the ML range of 620-660 had any correspondence about their PCA?
Maybe chase them up. I am similar ML to you and got my PCA date around 4 weeks ago.
If I don’t hear anything next week I’ll drop them an email, cheers 👍
