RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
The mother says something about college when talking about it so they'll probably figure it out based on the context.
Fierce bang of fair city after dark off it
Good luck to them figuring out what 'filling in the cao' means then.
Is that ad with the guy who plays Jimmy just to celebrate irish drama or is it actually part of Kin ?
There was 1 reference to the 'shades' in the first ep..........haven't heard that since I was in school and that wasn't yesterday 🤣
How many episodes in this season?
I love the production, very high quality.
The lack of a good soundtrack is huge on the show compared to love/hate
I mentioned before that Maria Doyle Kennedy was in The General. Also: Aiden Gillen was in The Courier, Ciaran Hinds was in Veronica Guerin and Emmet J. Scanlan was in Breakdown. Were any other of the cast in gangster-related films?
Some have turned up in Northern Ireland "troubles" related films.: Emmet J Scanlan - Anton, Aiden Gillen and Ciaran Hinds - Some Mother's Son.
Ciaran Hinds has been in a few films based on Graphic Novels, he was Steppenwolf in Justice League.
AMC+ airing ahead of RTE
Irks me that they keep saying 'police'.
I'm guessing Mike's wife was caught in the crossfire which ended up with him killing the murder and been jailed or something
Enjoyed the second episode. Sets it up well for the 3rd were you expect some retaliation and Mike to come out.
Find your man, Jamie's dad (Not Mike), the absolute ringer of Mack from its always sunny in Philadelphia so find him hard to take serious but that's just me. Otherwise looking forward to next week!
Enjoyed the first episode but I thought episode 2 was fairly poor
I'll stick with it but it'd want to improve fairly quickly in the next couple of weeks
I couldn't care less about your man's daughter, that type of storyline has been done to death elsewhere. Yawn
Ah yeah, if you watch the trailer it gives away whats going to happen next. Although it's a pretty expected outcome. Still not a huge fan of this so far but still gonna watch episode 3 where it will probably liven up
I think it would be fair if we presumed most people are watching on RTE so a request for no spoilers if watching ahead of that schedule ?
Found episode 2 a bit slower but still good
Yep didn't expect that from Frank
Ah maybe Sing Street is what I was thinking of
I don't think Maria Doyle Kennedy was in Love/Hate. Aidan Gillen and Maria were in the film Sing Street as husband and wife. She was also in the film The General where she played Martin Cahill's wife.
Never saw Clare Dunne before so I thought her eye thing was going to be a focus in the show.
Kinda sick of Maria Doyle Kennedy. Wasn't she in Love/Hate too?
I haven't finished the full first episode yet but it's watchable. A bit samey...the cool/calm big boss stamping over the smaller, more worried dealer.
I am enjoying it. Few weird things going on, the car crash, the pissing in the bag and the blowy in the car.
Expecting Michael to go on a mad one.
Offshore. Won't be on RTE Player until Sunday when show airs here.
where is the second episode? only ep1 on rte player
I've been harsh on this as it's Irish but thinking about it now after episode 2 it's no worse than the dubbed rubbish on netflix I've watched. At least experience of those has made me realise episode 3 is a waste of time 😁
Scanlon was in Constantine as Jimmy Corrigan (aka The Spectre) and Krypton ( as Lobo) , so Cox isn't the only cast member to play a superhero..
Had to rewind that scene to confirm wtf I just saw, was a bit left field cum out of nowhere.......had one eye on the show while doing something else, all the crying and emotion is not my cup of tea but I was trying to keep with the storyline with my 1 eye .....felt a bit guilty after I rewound it 😁
I thought first episode was ok...
Clare Dunne really is a terrific actress with the right material (she blew me away in herself) but not given much to do so far.
Plus Charlie Cox struggling a bit with the accent, will probably still watch episode 2
2: Strong performances out of Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne and Aidan Gillen.
Amanda becoming a real driving force for the current story. Maybe this season could be subtitled "Caolan Moore has to die".
That scene at the end was strong
between Jimmy and Mike. Real sense of different emotion from Jimmy (passion maybe) and Mike (embracing what he has to do). Big sacrifice from Mike if it means losing access to his daughter although signs that maybe she'll make her way to him instead.
Ciarán Hinds makes a great Caesar!
I really didn't see that coming...
