RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
Thank god we got a great discussion going on that during the week
I’m very familiar with the location of the car sales premises. Used to be Murphy & Gunn, Rathgar Avenue, where my father would acquire his company vehicles. Used to pass it every day on my way to work.
Fairly poor overall
Easy enough watch, I enjoyed it.
Feels similar to Acceptable Risk. Like they're trying to make it for a global market.
I enjoyed that, didn't think I would.
Disagree. First episode & it's pretty decent. Hopefully it keeps getting better.
Enjoyable. I will be back for more next week.
How the hell do spoilers work now on this site normal and mobile site?
It was okay. A tad soap like in places tough.
I enjoyed it . Wasn’t expecting that ending .
Offers nothing different overall from Love/Hate, which was a venture into a brave new world of Irish TV. The only difference is that the characters are on a more management level than street level. Ill stick with it. Acting isn't bad, but storyline is meh.
Fair city after dark vibe to it alright
It was OK, hard to say much else. Will tune in again next week and likely watch every week. Really don't like the Eric guy, his character seems extremely false. The actors seem a bit posh for the roles they're playing.
Gillen and Hinds are brilliant actors, but I'm not sure it has a strong enough cast to carry it otherwise. Love/Hate had Vaughan-Lawlor, Sheehan, Coonan, Gillen, and Killian Scptt. Few great actors like Lawrence Kinlan and Charlie Murphy involved also.
The only believable character was the opposition gang boss fantastic acting as always with him
the rest not good and the beards really?
the initial episodes of love hate were sh1te so let’s see what happens
Are we getting a swerve ?
Its the D4 version of Love/Hate
Hinds is outstanding. Beggars belief how that Emmet Scanlan gets parts. A terrible actor. As wooden and as fake as you can get
Barry Boland been upgraded
Fairly poor. Characters aren't that believable as gangland figures. The cartel allowing a hit on their biggest customer and the timing of the hit man all totally unbelievable. Really amateurish writing.
Why they try to oversell this as the new Sopranos is anyones guess. It exactly what you'd expect from any RTE drama.
Charlie Cox very believable Irish accent most of the cast very poor, that iron scene was what the ****.
Who in gods name does the casting for these shows, gangsters with posh accents and hipster beards, not convincing at all, had hopes but disappointing, fair city with an edge.
I like Charlie Cox (Mikey) and Hinds as has been said is excellent but in general the characters are not appealing so far. I agree it is too slick, also seems embellished and unrealistic. What was great about Love/Hate and the Sopranos was the human, silly aspects and so many gangster shows lose these aspects trying to be dark and dangerous. It also as had been said annoys me that they cast Aiden Gillen after Love/Hate. I liked him in that and in Peaky's in this he is trying to hard to sound dangerous with that voice almost like Christian Bale doing Batman.
Just don't really connect with the characters and it's very cliche.
Bit of a weird dynamic between the ma and the lad filling out his CAO.
his way of getting him to fill out the cao?
complete horse manure dialogue from her throughout
I enjoyed it to be honest. Now I did have the bar set very low, and I never saw Love/Hate.
Enjoyed spotting places I've walked along, blissfully unaware there were hardened criminals sharing the pavement with me.
CAO was filled by that stage more likely showing an insight to the family business how do ya know a junkies lying, he's talkin...
Completely unbelievable criminal characters and poor acting. I'm out
Please don't ever mention Love Hate in the same stratosphere as the Sopranos.
