It's the wrong side of the street now in terms of the width of the footpath outside not being enough to facilitate outdoor dining. But I guess that won't be such an issue as we get back to some kind of normality.
Tim had it 12 or 14 years ago.... The Rolling Pin..... back in the family
Who are they or what business did they run for those of us not in the know?
Was just about to ask who are Paul and Aileen?
the Kerry's Eye posted their front page on social media to a huge negative backlash with their awful insensitive headline 'Wiped out', regarding the tragedy in Lixnaw. They have received a LOT of negative posts, both on facebook and twitter. They have since removed the posts, so I am hoping that someone in there saw sense and have changed it! I can't believe how they thought that was acceptable!
I saw it too and thought it was extremely disrespectful. I wonder if that front page had already been sent to press for printing. They'll be an even bigger backlash if that hits the newsstands. The editor was completely tone deaf here!
Hope they didn't print too many! I saw a lot of people say they will boycott the paper. They have had some stupid headlines in the past, but this really was beyond stupid and disrespectful!
Riordan
Owners of the Burgershack?
Wasn't there another death/suicide in lixnaw a few months ago?
I see sera huskey have their dog.
Paul and Aileen own the burger shack, it would be great to have an extension of the burger shack in town.
It would be great if they opened the BS before 12, they seem to be no longer open for breakfast.
There was a suspected murder in Listowel of a young woman a couple of months ago. Not sure what happened there regarding if they arrested someone or if it was even a murder? I did hear she was assaulted, so I don't really know.
They obviously printed all their papers as they are in the shops now with that awful headline. I won't be buying it and I would like to see a front page apology next week, but I won't hold my breath. Disgraceful that the editor allowed it!
That was in Lixnaw not Listowel.
Kerrys Eye is a rag. Always was, always will be.
Hey..at least the dog is ok
thanks, wasn't 100% sure.
I was in Listowel SuperValu an hour or so ago, and there was still a huge stack of Kerry's Eye papers in the rack, and there was a huge stack in the Bridge Road garage as well. Kerry's Eye deserves to get their fingers burned on this issue. When they have to credit the shops with the returns, they'll hopefully get the message, providing that no one is stupid enough to buy it in the meantime.
Tiger,Been saying this for one year now,Maintenance is not KCCs strongpoint. We are placing some hope on Tralee/Fenit Greenway to revive fortunes of town butif maintained like these two we may forget it
Better than the Kerryman all the same (granted that doesn't take much effort) and they consistently call the Healy Raes out on all the shite that they stink of.
It was a tone-deaf headline but I'm a tad more outraged at the heinous double murder itself.
Agree on all the above!
I walked down Denny St today on the same side as the Grand/Imperial. The amount of dog fouling in the footpath is disgusting. I've never seen that street so bad.
That's disgusting. Why do some people have dogs if they can't clean up after them?
I noticed the paving in the Mall is also filthy, not with dog fouling, but just in general. It could do with a serious power washing.
It was professionally cleaned in April, an outside team took days to do it....it looked well afterwards....it seems that the stone just attracts dirt, not at all any "resistance" of you get my meaning
I suppose the dry weather didn't help, maybe with the rain it will clean itself a bit! The new area by Bridge st/Rock street looks well though. When is that area going to reopen to traffic?
no traffic until early 2022
I see Hogan's Hardware in The Square is having a closing down sale. It must have been one of the last businesses in town that has been around since the 70s or longer and look relatively unchanged. Being honest, I don't think I was ever inside that shop.
I remember going into that shop as a kid with the old man, you would nearly forget it was still there
Quinlans fish have opened their new shop in the Horan Centre, it looks great. They have also opened inside Dunnes NCR!
Dunnes is really coming together now and looking great. Can't wait to see it all done.
