I'd fancy my own Kilkenny in a final against Mayo at this stage.
I backed Tyrone as well. Good value bet.
Also I am biased in favour of their having two managers. (I know it doesn't always work.)
How has Niall Morgan not got MOTM there? Perfect performance.
Well I preferred it over seeing Dublin winning again.
It's actually Irish Sign Language and is recognised as a native language of Ireland alongside spoken Irish in legislation since 2017. It has nothing in common with spoken Irish nor English as it evolved in the Deaf community and has a very different grammatical structure alongside phonetics, synthaxes etc. All native sign languages are different, just like spoken languages are.
Once banned by church and state from use, with Deaf people being punished if caught using their native language, its's now the 3rd official state language of our country.
Thought it was worth quoting myself, I don't think it was too far wrong in the end.
The lad who called the semi final the greatest day of his life was anonymous and taken off early today. These things matter.
I agree it was not a great game and neither team was particularly great but in the end the best team won. I think Mayo did not want to win it. I would love to see Kildare play Mayo next year I think Kildare could beat Mayo.
Fairly complete All Ireland winning performance there. Dublin have had a few well won finals in there but the way Tyrone managed today was magnificent, penalty aside.
Two superbly taken counter attack goals, had the impact of the bench that other teams have been crying out for this year, and Morgan dictated the game at walking pace.
Mayo just didn’t look there today, no impact of the bench, and they have been carrying a certain forward now for two games running. I’d mention O’Hora and Keegan though, both never gave up.
I assume this is sarcasm??
Separately, the greats always find a way to win.
Mayo always find a way to lose.
Two brilliant goals actually. Mayo were chasing shadows..
He didn't say it was the greatest day of his life, he said it was one of the greatest days of his life.
However I did note his attitude during the parade, he was fully enjoying the moment, which is understandable, but Keegan was walking near him and showed no emotion at all. I thought it was an interesting contrast and a bad sign for for his game.
I blame the westlife guy who went to Croke Park dressed in Mayo colors. Seems he is even a 2nd witch. The lad is from Sligo just becos they so rubbish he shudnt be allowed support a good team out of choice.
not a game that will live in the memory.
Was there a suspicion of square ball about the second goal?
Why sarcasm? It's the truth. Was recognised in legislation in 2017 as a state language of Ireland - it's as native as Irish is. It's the language of the Irish Deaf community and has been in existence for hundreds of years.
No
Let's be honest, we all got excited by the dubs being knocked out. We ignored the fact that it was probably the worst semi final ever played, even allowing for the slippery conditions. It's was a defensive farce. Both teams were a disgrace. Mayo won due to 3 punts from over 45 from their keeper. Bully. It was almost embarrassing
They were in dire straights against Dublin in the first half. They were goosed against a very average Galway with zero tactics in the first half and the game only swung because Galways best defender got injured and the forward running amok was taken out off the ball.
Mayo are a completely average side, theres a reason they came from D2. Average met above average today and above average won
No.
Fair play to Tyrone, won at a cantor in the end. Far too many passengers on the Mayo team and O'Donogue aside laughably poor scoring threat from them. Best team won.
I can see Horan stepping down after this as he got the max out of this team and it still wasn't enough.
Its not unusual to give MOTM to the man who puts the ball over the bar but i thought Meyler and Frank Burns were incredible again.
They get on a tremendous amount of ball and the work they have get through to offer themselves as an option shouldn't be underestimated.
Terrible from mayo.
Bad decisions on the sideline and bad decisions on the pitch.
You dont deserve an all ireland based on your semi final.
One of the worst semi finals in living memory. Horrible defensive crap. 13 points with 3 coming from punts from the keeper. All that's been forgotten because the dubs were beaten, how utterly ugly that game was on the sport
Because the original comment you replied to was sarcasm.
...
It's a little harsh but I do agree that Mayo's main weapon is their energy and not their football. They have weaknesses in positions even the untrained eye would spot.
Tyrone on the other hand are a team of really good ball players. No absolute standouts, just good players to a man. They were stale under Harte but the change in management provided the spark and the platform to show what they can do.
New Mayo Jersey for next year and they should be made f@@king wear it
While mildly amusing, it ignores that the majority of All Ireland finals predate the existence of the EU, so most winners have in fact been outside it...
Congrats Tyrone.
Mayo!? Well I wanted you to win but Jesus you go out of your way to find a way to lose.
Likes to gives off this persona on the sideline that he is this deep thinker and guru of the game.
Shown up time again he hasn’t a Scooby Doo about game management in big games.
Dublin fell apart in the semi final, nothing Horan done except take off O’Shea.
I don’t either but I’m not in the hotseat!!
What is the point of this post?
