Tough interview for Michael Martin on Radio 1 this morning. He was a bit snappy.
He was asked whether his party was over-obsessed with Sinn Fein. He said No but acknowledged that some of the lads on Boards have a problem there. 😋

Sinn Fein doing Fianna Fail a favour IMO. FF'ers get to put Martin under the thumbscrews for a few days anyway with threats of will they/won't they.
Good for the electorate too as FF members can put up or shut up. All very well to voice discontent, but not much use if you just want to be seen to be peeved for optics.
And just in time for our now traditional hospital crisis, the Slainte-care issue is just beginning. Seems there was little will. So little two top people quit. Shows FF/FG/Green are happy to kick the health can down the road.

Not a great look for the government. The day after a full and frank meeting of FF, the leader has to order the parliamentary party to vote with the party to protect a FG minister or face a 6 month suspension.
The whole chaotic show is teetering on the brink.
A six month suspension is nothing especially when they will probably lose their seat in the next election. If yes vote wins and an election is called, what will MM do when some of his candidates are suspended?
If a few of them took a stand they might save their seats. And be a part of the new order that is coming in FF anyway.
I totally agree. I happen to know one of the FF ministers very well and in their younger years there was no chance they would be backing FG or as we both called them The Blue Shirts.

I thought the lack of a new order coming was the problem really.
A new order in the sense of a leadership change, remains to be seen if it will be a different order.
Imagine being a member of one of the civil war party's, that game pretended to be different to the other, opposed to the other, and somehow better than the other, for over 100 years.
Apparently, so much opposed to each other, that each time one replaced the other, they took down portraits of one, and replaced it with the other (Dev/Collins)
Then in the year 2021, you're a member of one of the FF party, who will be punished, if you don't STFU about your party leader refusing to punish a FG member.

FF FG will still most likely lead the next government SF will not get near the numbers needed loads of people complain about no choice but then go and vote if they do for an group or independent that will run a mile from actually going into government prefer to shout from the sidelines we have far to many of these elected to offer a real alternative good or bad .
FF will struggle to get double figures, FG are at their height ,only way for then to have numbers is if they don't run candidates against each other in certain constituencies,
