Couldn't love this post any more tbh. ☺️
Alma "what's the" mater Seligehgit 🤣
The only thing that matters, is beating Tyrone.
And it won't matter if we're on the hill or in the upper Cusack, the Davin or pitch side in the Hogan, in the living room, the good room, a dive in Drumcondra or the local... Because if, and when we win, we'll all be there, lifting Sam together.
Don't be anxious Seligehgit, it's time to go full Hornball.
(Needless to say, the weekend has already started for me 🍺)
We booked a table in Wallaces before the Dubs game as wasn't sure if we'd get into a pub, as it turned out would have been no hassle getting a drink in Phil Ryans but we doing the same for Saturday, nice meal and a few pints in comfort. Id rather be piled into Gills or Mc Graths or somewhere but just in case we playing it safe. I think its mad they not opening the bars inside yet have food stalls open where you can buy a burger and bottle of beer
Just on the car park, we were told similar re waiting an hour after the game. But it opened pretty much immediately afterwards and let a batch of cars out, then closed for 5 mins, then let another batch out and so on. Presumably the lower attendance for the semi final helped the crowd dissipate quicker. With the half capacity for the final, I doubt you'll get out immediately, but I reckon it won't be an hour wait either.
Anyway, it won't matter #Mayo4Sam!
Does anyone know if the hardy Bucks will be going to game or will they be watching in Castletown??
Cillian O'Connor 'back in Mayo training' after long-term injury
by Aiden Henry
Reports are emerging that Cillian O'Connor is back in Mayo training.
It has fuelled speculation he could be included in the James Horan's 26-man match day squad for next Saturday's All-Ireland SFC final against Tyrone.
It would be a remarkable comeback for the all-time top scorer in the championship after he sustained an Achilles tendon injury in the final National League match against Clare last June.
He's just back doing a bit of running, there's no chance of him being involved
Sure he'll hardly start anyway, Andy Moran and Mort have been flying in training.
Sure's there 5 men managing that team!!! He has a chance to start since of those 5 men!
I think the Manure is winning...
Mayo news podcast saying county has got more tickets for this year's final at 50% capacity then for 2017 at 100% capacity. Good luck to those still searching, think tickets will appear today 🤞🤞
Wheres the best parking options for those planning on being up by 2? Streets around Drumcondra? Any suggestions?
Im starting to feel hopeful about getting a ticket 😀😭
A Mayo man sorted me with a ticket for the final in 2019 so I was delighted to repay the favour today to him after getting a ticket for Saturday. He is one happy man now after being in a heap with worry all week.
It seems tickets are starting to filter through the cracks so lads should be able to get sorted. Best of luck to everyone still searching.
Take me off the list @yop !!!
I'd avoid Drumcondra to be honest, it's really busy anyway but match days are a different beast. You could park in Marino / Griffith Avenue direction (20 - 30 min walk to the stadium) and handy to get on the road out and back onto the M50. I live around there so feel free to PM me for suggestions.
That's mighty, if I can get a ticket I will drop you a message! I've generally always just parked at Heuston and made my way from there but wouldn't mind being closer this year for the quicker exit (hopefully won't matter)!
Do..send me a msg and I'll send a Google map with a suggested spot. Way handier than heuston.
Hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster (for Mayo GAA threads).
Nerves just been steadily building all week, I cannot imagine what it is like for the players!
Anyone any good suggestions on where to watch it (pub near croker)? I tried booking but everywhere is booked out. I am worried about heading over there on the day and wandering around for ages stressed trying to get in somewhere before having to watch it somewhere rubbish. Any big outdoor screens etc?
Would love to get on the list for tickets, not sure if you need to be a regular poster to get on if so fair enough!
Mayo by 2pts in normal time, Durcan MoM. 0-15 to 1-10 my prediction.
Nice one...great to hear people getting sorted.
Just confirmed there that my tenuous hail Mary ticket chance fell through soo..
On the off chance of Boards becoming a ticket hub, could I be added to the standby list??
Cheers cm
I'd have Mayo by 5, Mattie Ruane for man of the match, and Mattie Ruane for player of the year.
Big fan of Mattie Ruane obviously.
Me too.
The tickets are getting circulated now. An hour ago only 2 of my family had a ticket, now 5 of us have.
Looks like Ruane for player of the year all right. Assuming Mayo win it should be him, Diarmuid O’Connor and a defender maybe O’Hora in the 3 man shortlist.
Wish I could say the same, still not a sniff of a ticket
Right lads, thought I'd pop over today as I'll forget in the morning, good luck tomorrow, I'll be cheering you on.
If I hear of any tickets coming my way, I'll send them on in here, even if it's highly unlikely I'd get one, they're even more like gold dust than any other year.
Probably substitute in Paddy Durcan instead of O’Hora for player of year shortlist.
The nerves are getting real bad already. I don't know how the players do it.
The closer I get to the game the less confident I am getting.
I was optimistic at the start of the week but I suppose past experiences have left their scars.
Not sure if I am allowed to post this on the forum - re a ticket swap. Have an upper cusack. Section 711. Looking to swap it for a Hill ticket - if someone would rather the comforts of a seat.
Mods - If this post is against the rules, you can delete.
So my ticket is a "Term" ticket. I think this means it is one of the 10 year ones.
The date and time are for the September 4th fixture........I assume it is fine and they just didnt reprint them. Anyone hear of similar ?
Sure the reality is none of us know what its like to get over the line and have been there when we lost so many times. Those mental scars are going to eat into any confidence that we have built up.
