Down in Waterford for the night and staying in the Travelodge which has no bar or restaurant. Is there anywhere local available for the unvaccinated for a pint and food?
id imagine theres places where you can go, no idea where though, id imagine theres counterfeit vaccine certs floating about the place, and people using other peoples certs. im hearing stories of people getting pints relatively easily, but they could very well be just that

You could sit outside, or you could go get vaccinated?
If you get vaccinated (takes 5 minutes) you can go into a pub for a pint and a restaurant for food. Or get a negative test. Also takes 5 minutes.

They have letters which let them in. The rest of us need to be vaccinated to protect them.
2 weeks after the 2nd shot for the 2 shot vaccines and 2 weeks after the 1 shot vaccine before they will issue the Covid Cert. The other option is a private PCR test with results in 24 hours. Neither works for the OP to eat tonight.
Takeaway & off-licence is the only option
roughly a quarter of our population is unvaccinated, and it looks like that will remain to be, or there abouts. vaccines also have limitations, and by the looks of it, we ll all be getting a third shot soon enough, other countries have already started this process. theres no way of fully protecting all of us, all the time, and by the looks of it, this is here to stay. if people cant deal with that, they d be better off locking themselves away, permanently, as trying to shame others into getting vaccinated, probably wont work, as that rarely works either, humans are gonna be humans
Sorry guys I must of not been clear on my opening post, I’m not looking to be vaccinated, I’m not looking for a dodgy cert I’m just looking for comfortable outdoor dining where I can grab dinner. Room service not an option as the Travelodge has no restaurant.
From memory there's not much around the travel lodge apart from an Eddie Rockets knock off place (could be gone now I haven't been there in 2 years). You'd be as well off getting a bus into town for a few pints.
The Craftsman you can sit outside and have a drink don’t think they are doing food in the evening though ,or just head into town plenty of places you can get food and drinks outside like Geoffs or the Kazbar or Revolution

A number of pubs are no longer asking for covid certs as you probably figured out earlier this evening.
Just ignore the week it takes for the vaccine to take effect or your cert to activate.

i was told this alright, was unsure if it was true though, not surprised, it was never gonna truly work, hopefully we wont be seeing big problems in the coming months over this

If people wont listen to medical advise to get the shot, Im all for shaming the remainder to get it, not everyone can understand logic, but everyone understands shame
we ve been attempting to shame people forever, over all sorts, it really doesnt work. people have the right not to take vaccines, for whatever reasons, its their right, vaccines are not 100% safe or fully protect us for that matter, unfortunately this means we re gonna have to be on guard with this thing indefinitely by the looks of it
it is not your right to chose not to take vaccines, there has been mandatory vaccines in the past and there will be in the future
Walking along the street isn't 100% safe either, yet we still do it, because it's a a good thing to do.
funnily enough, it actually is, covid vaccines are not mandatory, that means the rest of us must accept some simply wont take them, for whatever reasons. yes its possible some vaccines may become mandatory in the future, but we dont live in the future
yes taking covid vaccines is generally a good thing for society, but there will probably be always some that simply wont take it, its just something the rest of us must accept, and get on with, sitting on the internets, attempting to shame them, will probably do a grand total of fcuk all to change that

They are not mandatory yet. The economy cant be held back due to ignorance forever. The US took a big step today in the right direction
Sitting on the internet typing probably won't achieve much, but limiting the access of non-vaccinated people to crowded indoor events or scenarios might concentrate their minds a bit - which is where this thread started.

vaccines are not mandatory, therefore people have the choice to, or not to.... thankfully most have opted to, leading us into a more herd immunity situation, attempting to shame those that choose not to, is p1ssing against the wind
those that chose not to, are not holding back the economy, its its own beast, it didnt stop with no vaccine, what direction is that?
i seriously doubt that, as you can see, some venues simply wont give a fcuk soon enough, and theres probably options for counterfeit certs at this stage
Very very few people and these people will absolutely not be going out for a pint and food because they might end up sitting beside the unvaccinated with a fake cert who is putting them in danger. Frankly disgusting that anti-vaxxers are using the cover of people who can't vaccinate when those genuine people are still sheltering because of those people.
We need to start criminally prosecuting folk who fake covid certs for criminal endangerment. A couple of high profile cases will put an end to that. And fines.
Then why are the countries that had the worst outbreaks suffering the worst economic contractions and the ones who got it under control had the least impact. Fact free guff.
