For property I have covered A.P, mortgages, co-ownership, findings, easements, family property, succession, land Reg and landlord and tenant…… are I taking a chance not doing Licences and covenants, or have I enough ?
Hey, does anyone have the past papers and solutions for Company law? I have materials for all the other subjects if required. Thanks
I think nervous shock and passing off definitely are due to come up. Any other suggestions?
Can anybody help me out with whats due on constitutional??
What's everyone covering for tort? It seems to be very unpredictable.
do you mind me asking what the 7 were..? :)
Hi, I’m looking for a detailed up to date grid for EU law if anyone has one please?
Also, what topics are people covering for EU law? Contemplating leaving out competition and mergers!
I’m repeating it and I definitely thought I’d know a lot more at this stage than I do but hoping it will fall in to place soon.
As of now, I am doing exemption clauses, consumer protection, misrepresentation & mistake, duress, privity, offer, acceptance and consideration and then damages. I do not know all of them yet though 🤣 what about you?
what seven did you prepare?
Goodness that's loads!! I did Company in March and passed it with 7 topics prepared. It's really predictable so 10 is plenty!!
Contract is my nemesis so if i haven't looked at it, chances are i probably won't start it now :P But i will have a little look at Duress maybe. Do you mind me asking what you're covering?
Looking for a recent tort grid happy to exchange for other notes - thanks!
Does anyone have papers for Spring 2021 and Autumn 2020 for Equity, Criminal and Torts?
I took it in the last sitting and really concentrated on what were the big Supreme Court cases over the past few years, the examiner always seems to base a couple of questions on those.
What are people covering for constitutional, there is so much and the examiner seems to be pretty unpredictable, so any help at all would be massively appreciated!
For contract I think I’m going to cover everything besides illegal contracts, undue influence and formal requirements. I may have a brief look at formal reqs because it hasn’t been up all that recently. Do people think this is cutting a lot of corners?
Trawl through sample answers and the examiners reports. Its the most deceptively difficult imo but grand really if you practice questions. As with most of these exams the same type of questions come up constantly but I found it a bit tricky to identify the topics in some of the problem questions at first. Practicing past questions takes care of that.
does anyone have a recent company law grid?
Does anyone have advice on contract? Getting really overwhelmed by it
is constructive trusts needed for equity? thinking of covering
Injunctions (mareva and interlocutory)
specific performance
rectification
estoppel
recission
charitable trusts
secret trusts
purpose trusts
trustees
am i way off the mark with this?
Unfortunately if its just that chunk that is missing, it probably wouldnt bring you up 9 to pass so might not be worth your time. You can always ask though.
Hi all - is promissory estoppel examined in equity or is it just proprietary? Thanks!
Hey guys,
I sat equity in March 21 and got 41. I had this rechecked because it seemed awfully low and unsurprisingly it didn't go up on recheck.
The law soc have only now just provided a copy of my script and I can see 1 question in particular where there seems to be an entire chunk missing from my script. Like a full part 2 of a q is not there.
I've already applied to sit equity again in October.
Has anyone else had any experience of them actually rechecking properly once this much time has passed? I'm understandably seething here
Thats more or less what I have but Iv covered receivership and winding up as well. Might add capacity and ultra vires.
hi everyone,
does anyone have the Companies Act 2014 available for the exam? willing to swap materials or buy it
thanks
Hey! If anyone has it I would really appreciate if anyone could send me the Exam Report for Company October 2019 and Exam paper for company March 2021. I just tried to buy them from the law society and I didn't realise that they get delivered by post rather than by email and that you can't buy what you need for an individual subject :/ I can trade materials for constitutional/criminal/EU/property (most up to date is constitutional) in return!
Hi There,
i am in the same position - working full time and attempting company for the first time.
i am going to do my best to cover the topics you have mentioned but am also including ;
I would be happy to trade notes if you would like to PM me and any other advice people may have on here is appreciated :)
Hi all, I am in bad need of an updated property grid if anyone can help me out... thank you so much!
Duress hasn’t been up in a while and it’s not too bad
What is everyone focusing on for company law? Currently working full time and will only have a couple of weeks off around the exams so only really have time to study the essential topics properly.
Based on the exam grids I would say the following are essential but not really sure what else to prioritise:
Anything else??
Constitutional:
Hey guys, does anyone have some past papers for constitutional? ☺️
Also any advice from people who have passed it, how hard of a marker is the examiner? 😶
