Really ? I will be literally jumping at every notification this week 😅
I emailed PAS about when results should be out and they said this week
I know one person here said 12 days but it generally takes two weeks it seems! Why I was even considering today I don’t know - this time next week is what I’m thinking and is much more realistic.
I know!! Was sure we would have gotten results by the end of this week. The wait continues!! How long did it take other batches to get results?
Checking every notification this avo with immense speed wondering would it possibly be the results 👀
Hi All,
I dont think they will be out today but they may be by the end of the week. The HEO interviews are starting next week so they might try and box these off before they start.
When you got the text from public jobs to log into your account for a message and you think omg it's the results. .......... Nope it's a reminder about the 2021 comp 😂 😂
I'm an external/non-public service. You'd need a few hours to do them and I've not attempted the practice or anything. So bloody annoying.
Do them at lunchtime? Or take a half day? If you're public service, your employer should be facilitating you.
I had to change a short trip in order to do my interview as they wouldn't facilitate a change of day.
So I went after the interview and got back yesterday & am working today so don't have time to complete the tests. Honestly feel like every step of this process has been such a juggle. The timing hasn't suited me at all at any point. Hate to not have myself in for the next comp but what can you do!!
Me too! Feel my answers were just meh! Did the new tests and feel the same - meh!
Did the interview last week and was disappointed with my performance, the board were lovely but whatever way the questions were worded (or my interpretation of them), i felt my answers were meh. Not feeling at all optimistic so did the new batch of assessments and feel the numerical and verbal were harder than last year :-(
I did interview recently and hoping to do the online assessment for the 2021 AP today before window closes tomorrow evening.
Just wondering if anyone who did the recent batch of interviews is going for the AP 2021 competition too? Aptitude tests are this week but really can't be confident about my interview and I'd be surprised if we have the interview results before the Aptitude test window closes!!
Thanks for that info. At least it's a timeframe so 2nd week in Sept so or thereabouts.
Thanks so much. Hopefully by Friday two weeks so.
That's what I'd been thinking roughly as interviews only finishing on Friday.
Found out 12 days after my interview which seems to be about the average wait time. Well done to yourself and everyone else here who had interviews this week and fingers crossed for positive outcomes shortly!
Can anyone on the panel from the previous rounds of interviews remember how long you waited for results?
Thank you. I'm doubting myself today now wondering if I hit the mark in all areas, it's so hard to know. Best of luck to us all. Next week would be great for results.
Well done on completion and like you I've fingers and toes crossed for an earliest possible positive result. ,🤞🤞😀
Interview done and dusted! Despite my nerves I managed to get through it and didn't go blank! I managed to give answers to everything but as to if my answers hit the mark remains to be seen! Just glad it's over now!
As for results my guess is early next week! I reckon they have your score once the interview is finished so after the last interview it's just a matter of forming a panel with those that are successful based on these score? If the last interviews are Friday I hope for results early next week!
Well done on getting through the interview so glad it went well for you. Fingers crossed 🤞 we're not waiting too long on results
Oh are they usually that quick?
I was expecting two weeks at least but that was the earlier rounds was it? Are interviews released quicker usually?
my guess, end of next week. Haven’t heard if anyone up for interview next week. If they finish say Friday, a few days next week for finalising admin, then issue results i reckon.
Anyone want to hazzard a guess of when results might be out??
Brillant - well done you! Hopefully it will flow for me tomorrow! Good idea re the notes - hopefully I won't need them but just in case the mind goes blank! I had a pretty bad experience with a PAS panel a few years ago in a HEO interview - I think that's what has me so nervous! 2 of them were so rude and completely knocked my confidence. I came out wondering what the hell I was doing even applying for HEO as I was clearly not suitable as they more or less told me! Thankfully I did and flew an internal a few months after that! I swore I'd never do a PAS interview ago...yet here I am! Thankfully none of those individuals are on this board and by all accounts this board are nice and fair! I will give it my best shot!
Re sub competencies- it will be the job of the board to ask you probing questions to get you to hit those if your example does not. You may not hit all the subs in your main example but you can say "not in that example, but 'this other time' I did XYZ". The competencies are marked over the entire interview so you may be discussing leadership but hit lots of points under interP and comms.
Hi Furby. I just had my interview late this afternoon. I felt exactly how you do.
I was convinced I'd go blank too with nerves which is VERY unlike me in normal life but hey - we have all been through a pandemic and I think that has changed many of us. Our confidence. Our ability to step outside the comfort zone. Our experience of doing anything different or new, and let's face it, an interview at AP level (if for the first time) is different and new.
I Printed out clear bolded notes/ tips on my competencies in case I blanked and stuck them around me. I suppose this helped me think - well if you blank - you can glance at these. I never even glanced at them or needed to thankfully - but use what ever reassurance you need.
I got very nervous/ anxious whilst the Chair was introducing the process, more than I expected, so I took the opportunity to take deep breaths whilst they were doing that - that intro piece went on a while (thankfully) - and I begun to come around as they finished, and honestly, once I started speaking I flowed the entire way and nerves evaporated.
You have gotten to stage 4 - believe in yourself.
Best of luck to you, hope that helps. 🙏
Yes you need a score of 41 in each competency to pass.
I am not sure how many fail, but, your goal should be to hit as many of the sub competencies under each of the competency headings on the competency framework.
I did the interview in 2019 and failed on Leadership and Analysis and Decision Making so for me, these are the more challenging ones.
These are the headings they score you under:
Leadership:
Judgement, Analysis & Decision Making:
Management & Delivery of Results (including Drive & Commitment):
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
Specialist Knowledge, Expertise & Self Development:
Best of luck! Will be a relief to have it over with!
