Think it was mentioned here that he is back jogging in training, but there's a big difference between gentle jogging and togging out against Tyrone!
It would take a lot of Covid to make that happen.
A very long bout.😀
I heard he's been rehabbing in Tyrone.
Mayo forwards will have to seriously challenge Tyrone defenders coming out with the ball and in fairness the Mayo forwards did that against Dublin winning several crucial turnovers. Kerry forwards didn't really do that, example Geaney allowing his man drift up the field for the first goal. Even David Clifford got turned over a few times and isn't really noted for tackling or tracking back.
To be honest, I think Mayo are a smarter team than Kerry and Kerry only lost to Tyrone by a point. Mayo hopefully won't carry the ball into contact as much, will seriously pressure Tyrone backs, will press Morgan, and won't have the same huge gaps at the back.
Could we be about to see a capacity increase for the final?
Announcements expected by the government tomorrow in relation to the easing of restrictions; we'll just have to wait and see if the game is affected by them.
Some good points there . Fast ball in means less time to regroup .
Not a chance in the aftermath of the scenes pre and post the hurling final.
75% capacity for outdoor events in Sept announced today???
Would that mean a crowd of 60,000 for the final?
Likely increase the capacity from the Monday after the all ireland!!
Sorry I didn't see the news today re the loosening of the restrictions.
Is that fully vaccinated individuals only?
It would be great news if that size of crowd was permissible.
I'm still imagining the government NPHET etc would worry re the possible optics if there was any repeat of the scenes around the hurling final. They certainly wouldn't want to be seen to have contributed to same by increasing the capacity.
Mere speculation on my behalf.
I think you might be right, i see 50% capacity being mentioned for outdoor events which isn’t great. It’s all fairly confusing.
40000 at hurling final last Sunday and 24000 at football semi final Saturday after says it all
Well to be fair the 24000 was based on the original date of the game.
I doubt the GAA would have been to egar to look for 40000 capacity for last Saturday based on some of the "concerns" rasied about the hurling final.
Added to that the tendency of Kerry fans not being great SF followers 24000 was a good middle ground.
As for increased capacity for the final, I've heard 50% capacity for outdoor and sports events which will make no difference as 40000 is 50% as it is.
Any news about Oisin Mullin?
Large outdoor sports stadiums and venues will be able to host 75pc of their full capacity if they are only admitting vaccinated or Covid recovered fans.
From the 6th of September according to rte
Over to the GAA now
Even though no tickets have been issued yet do we think the GAA will make vaccination/recovery a requirement just to up the attendance to 60K ?
Equally how would it be policed on the day, turn away people with valid tickets but no vaccination cert ?
Even though it would be better for someone like myself I don't think it would happen.
I can't see it being increased at this stage.
Would also be pleasantly amazed/surprised if the capacity got increased.
I'd say the GAA are on thin ice after the hurling and it would further antagonize the already enraged arts and entertainment sector
Oisin is back in light training and looking promising to feature in the final, albeit, if he is needed. Same for Cillian, whose rehab is ahead of plan, again likely to be called upon, but I would expect, called upon as and if needed in the concluding minutes
I'd say I'm more likely to make the bench than Cillian tbh.
Oisin will be back, from what I've heard.
Presume Eoghan McLaughlin is definitely out?
If O'Shea is fit, I think he will start and could have a serious influence. Look at how kerry dominated the kickout stats. If we can do that, and then just kick the ball over the bar instead of hunting goals all day, we would be in a great position. He could make hay in that middle area with morgans insistence on kicking long.
He would suit that tight intricate handpassing style tyrone engage in also. I feel he would turn them over time and again. Furthermore, he has taken a beating in the press, I think he is primed to respond with a performance.
Marking mcshane is a concern. Keegan is probably not at his best in an aerial duel, but then they dont really bomb balls in on top of him either. Furthermore, they will play a sweeper, so we can too. Plunkett would be a good option as he is a great kick passer. McLoughlin also. It will be an interesting game.
Tyrone have some good impact attackers, so Mayo will need some good impact defenderrs!
A rumour started to mess with Tyrone heads?
I heard if you have covid go to Tyrone, you will be healed within days.
So Oisin will be fit.
Eoghan I can't see it tbh. Cillian was out for 8 months initially, unless he is really 100% then that is the wrong team and wrong occassion to be "chancing it"
Id take it.
Surely we can do a Tyrone, and buy him another few months?
