perfectly put
Okay, but how is any of that relevant to what you claimed was woke in that post.
No I read that post(which is what I'm querying) , nothing in it was in any way relevant to explaining why you believe the term Polysubstance User was woke?
That is a perfect explanation
Poly just means many. My theory is that the huge influx of destitute people into Dublin during the famine changed how Dublin developed the extreme poverty, the tenements the city just never developed the way other European cities did. There are large homeless populations in London and Manchester and organisations who help them yet they don't feature in public discourses the way they do in Ireland.
Read Strumpet city by James Plunket
What's the opposite of gentrification?
Just in case anyone thinks it is a new phenomenon, Dublin in the 1970s and 80s was a pretty grimy rundown place.
It's not relevant in the slightest and you know that.
Whether the substance is illegal/legal is moot. The term itself is accurate and not "woke" at all.
But when you are looking for this perceived issue everywhere, I'm sure you'll find it.
That is true but language is used to frame an issue in a certain way polysubstance abuse is a correct description. Another poster has the opinion that it's an attempt to frame the issue in a certain way, the word could be both correct and an attempt to frame the issue in a certain way it's not mutually exclusive. Woke is is just a modern version of PC good mad as a retort.
That is similar to how the catholic church expanded and gained control after the famine, hungry we will give you charity, unwanted people we have institutions, sick we have hospitals, education we have schools depend on us for everything and in turn become dependent on us don't think for yourself or solve your own problems.
I'm not sure how you can confuse drug abuse with putting milk in a cup of tea.
Unless your actively looking to be offended by the term.
The city good through bouts of depression but that's no reason to ignore the problems of today. "Shur it was worse in the 70's" or "Shur London is as bad" just serves to absolve the city authorities of their responsibility.
I'm not old enough to remember Dublin on the 70's but the city now is the worst it's been in the last 25 years. And that's simply not good enough. The people that pay for everything get very little in this country, seemingly we can't have a city either that's not destroyed by those that pay for nothing.
The problems in the city have been hopelessly exposed by the lockdowns. They were always there just more hidden and less obvious with more people around.
If more people go back to the office and entertainment venues reopen it will help but I'm not sure how much. It's been a playground for 18 months.
They destroyed the lives of generations of women and children
I think many other people does not realize how far worse is the situation in Dublin for us foreigners any time we try to stand up for something. I could not count how many times I've been told: "why don't you go back to your country"
That's not very nice to hear and you may be correct that not many people realise the situation that non-irish people experience. I lived in a few other countries myself and had some unusual conversations with locals while I was living in their countries. Can I ask what issues you were standing up for that caused that reaction.
just sold a place on the north city centre its been turned into an open prison homeless charity disney land fxxk posters who dont lived beside they are zombies litter and **** everywhere have moved to dun laoire dcc are responsible 100% and wont even attempt to clean up there mess
Build a new prison most are on bail or need special care the idiots giving out tents are probably dealers
Do you need to have a little lie down ?
yes i do took a massive profit as u may not have much i paid tax to cover ur SW for a long time
Where exactly? (if I can)
I've highlighted already the individual groups are so called soup run charities with a big Facebook entourage , no mainstream charity providing services for rough sleepers hands out tents , if anything their outreach teams are very proactive in trying to get rough sleepers off the streets.
I'm glad I introduced you to the word "polysubstance" , you seen to enjoy it
Wokeism would you **** off
With a profile that says you joined today at 11.50am , you've a lot of reading to do.
any time I'm "in the country" I'm glad I live in Dublin! Horses for courses.
Probably fake profile. Duplication of some other above
The only people who can clean up Dublin at this stage are Globex Corp.
i love Dublin but I live in a nice part. There aren’t a huge amount of places north of the Liffey that I would like to live. Don’t get me wrong, there are some lovely places(stoneybatter, howth, malahide, phibsboro, Smithfield(to a lesser degree.its probably the nearest place to the north inner city I would feel safe) etc. I wouldn’t feel safe in the north part of the city center. However, I would feel perfectly safe in temple bar(even though I wouldn’t choose to spend my time there). Places like George’s street, camden street etc are quite nice.
"Another Dub living vicariously though the newspaper property supplement?"
If it ONLY was an issue of "newspaper property supplement". Sadly and unfortunately it's not that simple.
And PRETENDING there is no issue will never going to solve it - even if it feels nice and comfortable for some people...
For everyone who denied that this violence took place, there you go:
"Teen gangs are terrorising Dublin streets "without any consequences" "
Thank you for welcoming us in this country
