Speaking of which you just reminded me I cycled from Abbeyfeale back along the Greenway and then back into town a few weeks ago, stopped in Adare for a coffee, went over to the lovely park in Adare to drink it and get away from the insane traffic (whats the story with that town and traffic?), strimmers and leafblowers all over the shop, I should ring Liveline.

I remember sports in the park was banned for a while about 15 years ago because someone blamed the council and succeeded in sueing them because their child got injured playing soccer which is a perfectly normal thing to happen
They try to keep the paths clear of leaves because of someone slips then a court may deem the council responsible because of the trip hazard.
Unfortunately, that's the society we live in now.
What is the obsession the council has with leafblowers in The Peoples Park? Its literally unusable for a coffee break or to sit away from traffic for a bit in peace because theres always some lad walking around with one on his back roaring and stinking the place up with petrol fumes. What are they doing exactly? Its September now so theres a constant rain of leaves coming down from the trees and they employ a guy to walk around pushing them a bit? He's not gathering them into piles for collection (which would also be stupid), he's just pushing them a few feet in front of him then walking to a new part of the park and repeating the exercise. All day long this goes on!
Same thing out in Mungret park when I try to go for a run, a tractor running all day long pulling a mower behind it over grass that was cut the day before, then more leafblowers and strimmers. It would be alright if they were doing one big fortnightly or monthly cleanup but every day? Just pure waste. Just plant some badly needed trees out there and leave it alone instead of trying to maintain it like it was a golf course or something. Theres just no peace to be had in either of these places anymore.

I thought women were supposed nicer/more mannerly than men.If u were parked ouside someones house & the person that lives there comes back & ask would u move cause you have a load of shopping & stuff to bring in,would woud you give attitude back & ''say you will move in a while'' & not do anything least the partner a male moved it he was more polite no problem.
always way with the council sure cheapest crowd available which is'nt always the best.job is never done properly then.
Footpath and cycle lane. Now sadly I know they are probably both gonna look like footpath I can't help but point it out because I'm so annoyed at the useless state of the types of lanes the council are building and also to remind people to be careful of all the bikes that are flying past on what looks like a footpath that they are walking on
Ya i know extra with the footpath,i am talking about the progress.they managed to resurface very long stretch of childers road in less than a week, this crowd Are @ it a few months and they still havent finished, the amount of times they have dug and fill in the same bits of road again is unreal.
Are they not doing a lot more than just resurfacing Dooradoyle though or are we talking about 2 different bits of road
Great to see Cllr /mayor finally saying road improvements are **** up around the dooradoyle & words had. They could resurface childers road good long section nearly over night without too much hassle but yet the cowboys they hired to do dooradoyle cant even do a smaller section of the road without taking months & when they do resurface it is job.like a dealz type quality job.

Heard their black driver that used to work in Aldi was given them grief.
i never really trusted them anyway, they always had a bad reputation the green bus.'dublin bus' or something like that they are called, some of there drivers got caught for drink driving a few times.it was actually on the garda page. there is always some excuse,with them.

Their excuse is that they lack drivers. Doing 307 and 308 route in conjunction.

I've been through it quicker since the roadworks though, seemed excessively bad today , and I was turning left to head towards the motorway

There's only one lane open when turning right out of the main exit due to the roadworks.

Had a report of cold-callers, people knocking on doors in the city centre earlier today. Two sets of people came round, separated by five hours, one wanting people to "sponsor a dog" (WTF???)

Saw the Miley Harty funeral cortege speeding out the Dock road toward Askeaton this morning. Horns blaring and loud music blasting from the speakers - including the hearse!! Seems to be a new trend. Going out with a bang.
