I would not want them, but the only reason they work at all is because of that ledge that runs all round the edge so there is a sense of the sky being beyond the ledge rather than just appearing at the junction of the ceiling and the wall.
Sweet mother of jesus 😟.
on a positive note, the shot of the front entrance with the gates is beautiful.
Someone went a bit O.T.T. during lockdown with their reno.

I wouldn't say that's excessive.
I'd love to find something llike that for that money in Limerick.
Especially with the converted gym.
The Chalet in the back garden is a bit much
They certainly like their telly time. I counted 6 and thats only the ones we can see.
From image 5 it seems someone has a problem falling out of the bed when asleep, Id say thats some fright for people who it happens
Or they bedshare with a toddler.
Looks like a heavier person than a toddler lying on that side of the bed
Home stay dementia patient would probably be the most likely then.
Half the house stuck in 1970, half the house in 2020. The side positioning of the smoke alarm in photo 2 tells me the owner would rather use the instructions in the roach of a bulked up spliff than actually read them, a different time I suppose.

It looks like a sound, decent house. Obviously had a new coat of paint throughout, though they made a mess of the side of that box affair in the living room. The decor in general is rather sad but its all cosmetic and could be easily fixed.
The difference in price though between that one at 720k and almost identical houses in, say, county Waterford where the same house would fetch 250k is a bit eyewatering. Location, location, location!
I cant see much wrong with that house. There wouldnt be a lot to do in it other than some decorating. If that was the location you wanted, the price is probably around average for that area.
720k though, yikes.
Only fifty grand to live in God's house.
Do something like this with it and it would be a pretty good Airbnb rental
This has been on the market for a very long time. I was buying in co Sligo, so it kept appearing on my searches when I very first started looking last autumn
I am sure that donegal church has been on sale for a few years now, think I saw it last year for around 70-80k.
Guess thats why its ended up on Bidx1
Very sad. By the way are they bullet holes in the front of the house
This must be one of the finest Irish homes. Absolutely stunning

That Easkey house is lovely, I could see myself living there 😁
I hope it is purchased as a guest house or boutique hotel as I would absolutely go stay there….even though it would probably cost me a mortgage payment
i was lucky enough to stay in Tara Hall in Howth in the short time that is was run as a guest house before Covid and being sold and it was not dissimilar
Not normally a fan of older houses like that, but easkey house is sensational.
Didn’t know Tara Hall was being run as a guesthouse previously. You must have stayed there in the wintertime. Was it heated? Because it’s on a north-facing cliff, the sun never gets to shine on the place in winter.
Stayed there twice one August 2019 and March 2020 just before lockdown. They turned it into a guesthouse when the matriarch passed in 2018 or 2019, but I think was hard work and Covid was the nail in the coffin. They were lovely people
I actually lived in that house a few years back when it was a rental. The bar was great fun and we had some great nights there with friends. It has some quirks though. Both that house and the house next door were originally the same plot of land (original owner built a second house). As a result it doesn't (or at least didn't at the time) have its own dedicated parking. It meant constantly having to park in the neighbors parking spot, and as for having guests over with cars it was always a bit tricky. The mural wasnt there when I lived there, actually to be fair quite a bit of renovation has been done since. The kitchen was moved to the other side of the room, and also it wasn't open plan with the living room when I was there either. All I can say is quirks aside I loved living there for a few years.
The funny thing is it wasn't the Leopardstown Road house that brought me to this post. Its the former bank house in Mountmellick that was being discussed a few pages back. Its a super looking house and we might be interested in it. Will be giving the estate agent a call this week to discuss, possibly gone at this stage as its quite unique. Had to laugh that a house I also lived in was being discussed in the same post too. Im not sure if that means I have good taste, or terrible taste 😅
Oh best of luck with the bank! I absolutely loved it! Still up on daft anyway!
Yeah, considering my Dad bought our first house on the other side of the same road in 1970 for, I think, 5000. Which was expensive at the time. A lot of Aer Lingus workers lived there. I think he paid an extra 50 pounds for a side entrance (in addition to the garage)! All those houses were exactly the same and there's a lot of the same houses in other Malahide estates. They were cold and uninsulated but solid houses I suppose.
Looks like they've changed the stairs - our house had horizontal railings which was absolutely lethal for toddlers. My Dad nailed a board across the base after I managed to crawl half way over the edge before I was caught. I've told everyone since - if a child can crawl over a drop anywhere in the house, then do something about it straight away.
PS: Our next house in Sutton was bought in 1980 for £50,000!! Now that's inflation!
“In need of refurbishment”. It obviously needed to be said. How you can call that a “2 bed detached” is beyond me!
€50k is insane. They mention a view and don’t even have a picture of it
Because it probably was a 2 bed.
I think you are being a bit harsh here, mentioning the ruin is for furture planning reasons. "Replacement House for planning purposes"
You'd be buying a site.
I know estate agent photographers regularly use wide angle lenses to make rooms look larger, but this one is taking the pi$$! Looks like they used a fish eye lens. I feel nauseous looking at these! https://www.myhome.ie/residential/brochure/tribley-kilmessan-trim-meath/4526866
