Death in December is rubbish. Anti Bailey one sided with fictional account of the murder implying it was someone like Bailey
I can't believe that Nick Foster is making money on such shite. What an arse.
Has anyone read any of the other books? Death in December and A Dream of Death. Are they worth a read and without bias?
Only a very rare and select group of people had ever heard of Kali in 1996. There was Sophie, a few Hindus, oh and anyone who may have watched an obscure arthouse movie named Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
So Bailey mentioning Kali is absolute proof that he knew Sophie. How else could he have heard about it?
That's not what he said though.
Case closed so. 😂
Kali.
Can someone tell us what the "missing link" is so I can keep my €15?
Wait, what? I've read the book I think you must be referring to, I've already said I don't find the 'missing link' claimed to have been found near the end of the book very convincing at all. Sorry to disappoint you.
The Gards should be put on trial for their disgraceful and bias prejudice during the initial investigation. The amount of genuine leads not followed up, ignored, or not acted upon is borderline criminal in itself.
The fixation on Bailey was unwarranted. The manipulation of witnesses pressed to place Bailey in the vicinity is corruption at the highest level.
This thread summed up perfectly. The gardai were 'on trial' for the way the investigation was conducted, IB brought them to court himself and it's been discussed at length. He lost, the judge said the gardai would have been derelict in their duty if they had not arrested him as the suspicion was so strong. You can draw people's attention to the facts over and over again but you still see this kind of illogical nonsense. It's like a collective case of goldfish memory.
Based on what Bill Fuller said in his statement.
which journalst? The book authors are not objective anyway. They a re anti Bailey to get Sophie relaions on board so then can then claim to write with co operation. Just spin.
Thanks for the information, makes you wonder how open the investigation actually is as in is there guards still actively assigned to the case or is it just for optics at this stage.
Shin
So MoonUnit is a certain English journalist (not Bailey, lol) who's been outed in this thread, right? That's why he hasn't come back?
Makes sense to me, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what his game was in pursuing one scenario above all others. If he has skin in the game—a book about the murder, for example—it becomes clearer as to why he would be so pigheaded about it.
However, journalists are supposed to be objective. They're not fckin detectives. I think it's pretty gross and unethical for a journalist to push a certain narrative so obstinately just cos they wrote a whole book based on this premise. You're not even doing the bare minimum as a curious citizen if you fail to consider all possibilities and scenarios, let alone a journalist. Ew.
Yeah it's weird. Ah well, thanks for sharing!
is it you haven't enough posts to upload a link? leave spaces like facebook / com / your link
Odd, you can't link to it if you admin ;

No, it's a fb group I admin. Thanks for the link tho
I was listening to Joooooeee Duffy today - no choice in the matter. But he had an artist on about painting he sent to the USA via parcel direct / TNT / Fedex that went missing.
At the end of the conversation old joe asked him what hours he works on the painting as he also does "normal" work - his answer was 11 - 7 at night! Joe was perturbed as only Joe can be - "do you not sleep". Yep, 6 hours 5-11 and a nap in the morning. But he said these were "standard artist's hours" as you get the best concentration and most writers and artists do the same. Said very matter of factly and certainly didn't think his night working was anything unusual
So this shows that it fairly common for writers and artists to work overnight and nothing unusual about it. This IB's assertion that he was writing during the night is very plausible

FOI only partially includes Garda records, An Garda Síochána became subject to the FOI Act on 14th October 2015, as a partially included agency “insofar as it relates to administrative records relating to human resources, or finance or procurement matters”. https://www.garda.ie/en/information-centre/freedom-of-information/
Law Enforcement and Public Safety have exemptions under section 32. of the FOI Act which would include files relating to an ongoing investigation.
Yep. It's disgusting. Ians taking a break from twitter now for a little while. He definitely enjoyed winding them up but he says it's too time consuming and childish, which I agree with.
Reported multiple offensive posts yesterday. They really go to town on him.
Im assuming that with the case still open and not a cold case the Garda file would not be allowed to be viewed under FOI would it ?
Oh wait that didn't work. It's called
"murder in west cork - discussing the sophie dú plantier case"
On Facebook
There are 5 or 6 accounts that respond ad nauseum to every tweet Bailey puts out. Bailey says - off to Scull Market, might see you there - and immediately gets the same responses from the same accounts and they reply to each other saying the same unhinged stuff, over and over and over one basically just keeps saying how bad he smells, how he doesn't have a proper job, another claims to be a market trader, another keeps asking him if he killed that poor girl, another posts a gross out picture of himself half naked and challenges Bailey to a bare knuckle fight, they all have about 2 twitter followers. It's possible they are the same unhinged person sitting there all day responding to themselves. All quite disturbing really.
Absolutely agree 👍👍
BTW if anyone wants to join the fb group about the case I admin, here's the link
Mob rule, not too far removed from the baying mobs around the gallows or the guillotine .
I watched again "The real field" on RTE the other night.
The parallels were striking, most notably the vilification of Dan Foley,
a man and his family name destroyed, even though he was never charged with murder.
Absolutely nothing learned, zilch, in the 20 intervening years by Gardai , forensics etc.
I mean locals had an impromptu wake in the victim's house, destroying any evidence that might be there,
and then set about Dan Foley's reputation, while he may have been guilty, it was not for them to decide.
Very true, sure we only have to see how at least one poster on this thread tries to twist everything to paint what is in fact an innocent man guilty. I'll tell you something, in some circles, we have this reputation for being very caring and civilized as a country but there is many here who are far from it.
From the gards to many of the locals in West Cork, how they have acted in all of this has shown their true colours. The whole debacle would actually make you ashamed to be Irish. The fact that he has not been found guilty means he is fully entitled to the presumption of innocence, not trial by social media or propaganda pieces like Netflix or clueless so called reporters like Sinead O'Connor. The very people who try to make out he is guilty would be the first ones to cry foul if they were falsely accused of a serious crime.
If this case had been investigated in America, Bailey would now be a multi millionaire living in Beverly Hills burning $100 bills in his fire.
The man has been stitched up, vilified, and cut loose to the dogs for the past 25yrs.
Any chance of a career, normality, house, car and 2.4 children was stripped away from him in 1996, with not as much as one jot of evidence to place him at the blood soaked murder scene.
His media accounts are full of hateful posts. People who deem themselves better than the law, have convicted Bailey of murder regardless of there being no evidence to support it. People berate him in public everywhere he goes. He gets asked to leave eating establishments when dining with friends. He is now in his sixties and near the pension age, and is in fact homeless...
The murderer of the young Mother has not been brought to justice. And at this stage is long gone or dead.
In a western, civilised society, every citizen is afforded the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
That basic right was stripped from Ian Bailey back in 1996 - And for no other reason than a corrupt police force couldn't see past their man in black.
What if it was our turn next? Think it can't happen??
In the days that followed, Martin O’Sullivan gave a statement to gardaí about the suspicious car he had seen
Would love to see this statement in full and some sort of explanation from AGS about what they did with this information to followup. GOD might have jumped off the deep end in recent times but it seems pretty clear MOS gave a statement. Why we know no more than that is beyond peculiar.
It was in the original witness statements. He was baffled it was never followed through, I believe that's in print somewhere later on. Hard to keep track tbh
