Best of luck with the new motors, Phil and Fitz.....
I spotted the post on Facebook and thought that couldn't be you as you'd never have kept quite about it. 😁
Have fun now.
The area view is a nice addition, well wear. I just hit the button on the steering wheel to turn on travel assist, a lot smoother than lane assist alone which just bumps you from side to side in the lane.
All the best with your new ID.3s lads, they look great!
still waiting for mine, hopefully dealer will have it early next week.
Could you post a pic of the button? I'm probably being thick...
Here you go Phil. When you hit the button the HUD markings should turn green as does the driver display symbol. The is a markable difference when driving with travel assist on compared to lane assist.
Edit: A well delineated road helps and you should see the HUD markings changes to green when active
The Area View is the one thing I miss not having on my MY2021 model. For some reason I find parking difficult because of the lack of visibility of the front (bonnet?) of the car from the cockpit and the restricted rear window view, even though I have the rear camera. We have 360 View (same as Area View) on our Volvo and it really is a great parking aid.
TA button is bottom right. Note that this button is not illuminated until car is placed in D or B mode.
Yeah figured it out this morning.
In bad news after all my celebrations...
Top left of the pic if you zoom in on the arch...
No idea why boards.ie feels the need to rotate this...
Wee scuff on the paintwork at the drivers rear arch. The panel is not quite right either.
Shouldnt be a major job to put right, but irritating.
I think we're all hyper-sensitive to the smallest imperfection in the first days of ownership of a new car. I slightly scuffed the front passenger wheel rim on a high kerb a couple of weeks after getting mine and was pretty annoyed with myself. But I don't even see it now - it's still there but has faded into the background of my consiousness, and most other people would never notice it.
figured out the travel assist on way back from Waterford on N25 and it’s really good.
one of my kids jumped into a muddy puddly before getting into car so there’s a nice stain on the light grey panel in the back already even though we have heaps of seat protectors! I’m sure it will brush out … we had to go to Waterford to get a new car seat.
Question for the two lads with the MY22: are the wipers in LHD configuration or did they fix that? (I know: not much chance).
Mine is MY21 but I haven’t noticed any issue yet and we were driving in rain today. Maybe if it were a downpour it would be noticeable.
They haven't fixed it and by all accounts they have no intention to.
Lashing in Donegal today and it was noticeable but not the end of the world.
Oh aye, in one sense the sooner you get the first wee bump the better lol.
But a 1 day old car with a noticeable paint scuff and a misaligned panel is a bit much!
Emailed the dealer today and he said he'll be in touch on Monday.
Was it like that at handover?
Must have been but I didn't notice it. If they try to claim it happened afterwards there'll be trouble...
I think they'll be sensible about it though.
Good luck, hopefully they will be fair about it. Either way, don't let it stop you enjoying a great car!
Do they really have drum brakes in the back considering how much they weigh?
What about the higher HP version do they get drums or disc in the rear?
Drums all the way, AFAIK.
with regen, the brakes get little, Drum brakes are fine with ev

@DrPhilG Are any of your pics from the handover at your dealer high enough quality to zoom in on the damaged areas?
Only got 1 at the dealer, and its not clear enough.
A pity, but I'm sure you will have no problem with VW.
Not like rental car companies, I am meticulous about photographing the car from all angles in HD before accepting, including the dispatch bay number.
Bear in mind this is miles, not km...
A tad optimistic mind you.
Been reading here since early summer, order placed but for collection in Jan/Feb - I feel both excited and lonely I can't join in the fun! Anyone else in the same boat ?
Was in same boat until Friday. It was worth the wait though. delighted with it so far.
You must be driving like a Nunn😋
Like your wheels, mine only came right last week on the App after 11 months
Mine shows same wheels in app too. But we have the andoya ones.
Yea, but the app seems to upgrade you😊. My colour was wrong for about 6 months and wheels for about 11 months. But I didn't loose any sleep over it...
I'm Andoya too lol
Definitely not driving like a nun, I never do.
That was my first charge too 100% and by the time I got half way home it had dropped to 360 miles.
Now at home, 97% and 335.
I'd say 320 would be the most I'd ever get out of a full charge.
