A lot of the music events have sold out, but looks like this will be nice and a bit of a return to normality! The Funfair is also in town!
Ah lads!... The Burger Shack 😂😂😂
I was actually just going to ask about Elverys and that was the story. The Tralee stone is gone from their website again.
The staff have been told nothing bar they aren't opening until probably after September by all accounts.... management playing cards close to their chests
A post of facebook said they were closing early yesterday and may be closed for a few days - wife saw it and when she went to re check it that post was taken down. Someone was asking I think on Tralee do you know if the Burger Shack had closed down - but I think they close early these covid days at 9.
To be fair they seem to be busy at home in the evenings....
Can't say why for obvious reasons ...but it's not covid related
Passed by Birds earlier and it seems very small, not as much as usual, anyone know if there is a small kids section? I couldn't see anything that looked like one when passing. Last time I went down the small kids section was in the car park opposite Guineys but there seems to be only some in the Brandon car park today. Have a 6 yr old who I would bring down this evening but don't want to get hopes up and then discover it's only all adult rides.
The Range hiring 80 employees ...Good job boost for Tralee and Manor!
Its great news, badly needed in Manor too. As much as it draws away from the town centre, its been miserable in the main shopping centre. Fair play to Johnny Wall on getting in before the Chamber to welcome the news too.
Ken won't be happy with that 🤣
I see Morans shop in Strand Street is closing according to Kerrys Eye as the owners are retiring. I think that is the last grocery shop in that street. I remember when it was run by O'Sullivans and then Renee before them. When I was growing up in the 70s/80s there were at least 5 such shops on or adjacent to that street.
I would say Barry's in Rock Street is one of if not the last shop that's not part of a chain now.
Is Moran's fully closing or is Jimmy just retiring? I'd swear an article earlier in the week said his name would still be above the door but 2 others would be running it. - Things may have changed since that article though.
No closing. Jimmy and Eileen retiring after over 35 years running it... New owners taking over on Saturday morning
End of an era
Thanks for clarifying. Great to hear the shop will still operate!
Anyone know if the burger shack is still closed?
It is
Thanks, it will be The Green Rooster this evening then!
Do you know why?
They just said they were closing for a few days, no reason given.
That's excellent about Mango in Shaws. It must be very new as wasnt there two weeks ago. Will definitely have a look as there is nothing in town now clotheswise.
Also is the Burger Shack closed? Went down there last night hoping for a taco fries and was all shut up?
It's closed for personal reasons, just keep an eye on The Burger Shack page for reopening date
We badly need some new clothes shops in town. its really not great anymore. I think Mango only opened in there last week. I haven't had a chance to call in yet.
Just passed the Burger shack and it looked to be open, shutters were up and lights on anyway. Fingers crossed it will stay open.
Highly doubt it's open... Facebook page is gone also
Just checked the Burger Shack page and it looks like it is gone, like you said - I do hope they will re-open though. The personal reasons will blow over and life will go on. I hope the staff are being looked after during the closure.
The shutters were definitely up and lights on anyway
