Just so you know, before you give yourself an embolism, these two planes are replacing 2 older models, who by the time they are replaced will have been in service for a combined 60 years, working on search and rescue, illegal drug shipments, fisheries protection, air ambulance and general utility transport, including of late transporting thousands of COVID tests to Germany for analysis because our labs were full.
If we get half the value from the new 295s that we got from the 235s, it will be money excellently spent.

Drones cost between €30 and €200 million. Suggestions to buy them would probably have to narrow that choice down.

No. There were several visits.
There were also visits to Pilatus and to GDELS-Mowag from mixed tech/non-tech mil/civ delegations in recent years. And also not so recent years for that matter. Its just part of the customer experience.

I see that the Brazilian armed forces have cancelled about 50% of their order for the KC 390 airlifter. This frees up some production slots which would mean a timely opportunity to place an order for one or two of these for early delivery.
It also means a smaller user base with knock on costs.
I don't imagine that the running costs of one aircraft is going to cripple the economy, given that it will be fairly lightly used. In fact the AC could probably make some money doing a bit of charter work on an ad hoc basis
