Biden was always one to take questions from the press, however the White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki frowned on it and advised him not to.
He has stated this himself in the past and Jen confirmed this policy in a pod cast in May.

Nothing wrong with doubling down on the US having no future in Afghanistan but he was hugely evasive on the current shambles and even tried to blame the Afghans themselves.

and how do you expect people from afghanistan to leave? when they are poor and its not very easy to access education or to get a visa.

This should have been factored in by US intelligence. Failing to do so has left him sending in the military to try and get his own people out of there in dangerous circumstances - very close to Saigon all over again.

How do you know it wasn't? The US spent 20 years pumping money into the Afghan military. Top quality equipment and training. Hardly going to predict that they're gonna sh*t themselves and run when the Americans leave. If anything you'd think they'd take matters into their own hands and put up an even bigger fight.
I agree with Biden, why should they risk American lives if they can't be bothered to fight themselves.
Has it not been slightly obvious for 20 odd years......mainly since 9 11 , one should not go live in Afghanistan to live or have i lost the plot and missed some memo......

just cause you wouldnt do it doesnt mean others wouldnt - some people have a higher calling then watching netflix all day or posting on boards..... they are in UN organisations or NGOs etc they are trying to do their bit as useless as it may seem.
i would hazard a guess that half the afgan army where taliban and they planned it for years

Not far off. Plenty were bought already. And over there, you could have cousins in the military and cousins in the taliban.
They knew their goose was cooked. Even the President eff'd off days ago. I'd say they fled or joined the Taliban.
That was my own thoughts. He makes a very good case for the US leaving Afghanistan - but practically airbrushes the utter disaster and shambles of the last few days out of the narrative (as if it had nothing to do with him or the Americans).
