I work in this field, opposite Central Banks. Physical cash movements are hard to track, which is why it's favored by criminals, drug dealers, etc. This costs society a lot of money as it has to deal with all this crime, the money laundering, the tax evasion - it costs you, you pay for it. Modern digital cash, which is naturally replacing physical cash, is easier to track/trace which makes detecting all those illicit activities much more effective; laundering, tax evasion, fraud, white-collar crime, everything. That's a good thing, because it helps protect you from that crime, and it reduces the burden on the you, the taxpayer. It also acts as a deterrent and it also makes it much easier to prosecute, whether it's a serial tax evader or a politician taking a bribe.
CBDC is essentially the same as the digital EUR you use every day, the only big difference would be that it's held via the Central Bank, not a commercial bank, which means it's much more secure (a commercial bank can go bust) and that it would be digital only (not physical). The Central Bank works to regulate banks and financial institutions (making sure they don't **** us over), stabilise the economy (making sure we aren't fucked by e.g. inflation or stagnation) and act as a lender of last resort (in case there's a crisis). A Central Bank is a good thing, there to protect you and the economy. In modern countries, they don't **** around, if a commercial bank steps out of line they can and will strip it's banking license.
Paranoid people don't understand any of this and don't care to. In their simplistic deluded world the government and Central banks are cartoonishly evil and nefarious and "out to get them". So they twist any info they come across (CBDC money) and spin it out as yet another "the powers that be are trying to control you" which their paranoid base lap up. Exactly like that blog you posted.

Well that is deliberately misunderstanding a point that has been made many times in this thread. Again, for you....the point is....When the vast majority of doctors agree, they are generally right. A few who disagree are usually wrong.
Why are you linking to a page of ads from around 1930-1950's? You know that was 70-90 years ago, and some peoples opinions can be bought, including some doctors. However, the great thing about science is that when credible evidence is provided to counter what was previously believed, consensus generally changes. It was easier to fool people in the past than it is now because research is more available, and technology has improved dramatically.

Not sure if you were referring to that, but that's true for cryptocurrencies - that are completely independent from banks - as well. Exact tracing is comparatively easy, because all the transactions are in a blockchain, which can be looked at by anyone with a blockchain explorer app.
There are a small number of privacy focussed cryptocurrencies, but for the vast majority (like Bitcoin itself), transactions are traceable. That's one of the reasons that some of the recent ransomware crypto payments could be recovered so quickly.
