Yes I think it is ridiculous that at this stage that a few hundred people are not allowed to run a road race.
Most adults that want a vaccine now have one..we are nearly as safe as we are going to be.
40,000 at Croke Park. Indoor dining and drinking.
Road running would be a lot of safer than any of the above..
It’s a complete and utter farce!
0.1% of cases can we attributed to outdoor transmission
an outdoor activity that is beneficial for mental and physical health can’t have more than a couple of hundred participating but I can eat sh1t in an airless indoor cinema
some logic

I ran a couple of the 10Ks organised by Championchip in NI this year. They were very well organised, as I'm sure this one will be.
Thanks for all the replies folks. If only I could get the organisers of Galway to respond to a message.
I'm in the exact same boat as you in regards to Galway and I hesitated a day too long on entering Belfast. I sent Galway Bay a message last week too without a reply which I was hoping to get some answer to determine if I was going to pay the entry for Belfast. I'm finding this all very Deja Vu to last year.
Does it seem odd that Galway is still open for registration? Would have thought it would be well full at this stage.
Radio silence from them. I missed out on Belfast too. They should come out with a statement. It is strange that they are still accepting applications.
I'm definitely looking at other options as it's unlikely it will go ahead.
They did that last year too, went very quiet but continued to accept registrations until they eventually called it off on Sept 15th or thereabouts, less than 3 weeks before the event was due to take place.
10K in Kilcormac, Co Offaly on 29 August
I have added a 10k race option to the event at Shanes Castle event on Sept 19th. Enter through Athletics NI on the link below. SCroll down the page to se it.

The termonfeckin 10mile was run yesterday with 200, by Drogheda AC. Great organisation on the day and marshalling on the roads. a lovely countryside course with a few challenging hills. Myrunresults did the chipping and start/finish line
great to be back at a start line!
Ratoath half this Saturday
http://www.rathfarnham5krun.ie/ I'm gutted 2bh, by far one of the highlights of the race calendar, I'll give Rathfarnham credit they tried 2 different dates but just too much uncertainty with covid restrictions and the limit of 200 people was not workable. All I can say is if the GAA was in charge of athletics in Ireland they would of made it happen ha.
There is no 200 person limit.
Tell them to have a word with the organisers of the Mullingar Half.
Seems to be an awful lot of over 60 bedwetters in charge of athletics clubs, holding the country back.
Anyone doing charlevile on Saturday week, also looking at brandon Bay run although never ran on the beach for that long.
Got my entry in for Run the Line in Nov this morning, first event since who knows how long. Going to be slow & painful but am sure I'll appreciate every single second :)
That's lovely feedback, thank you. We enjoyed hosting. Contemplating launching our usual Christmas 5k at the moment, but finding it very hard to get volunteers to organise.
I enjoyed the Seamie Weldon 5k in Ardee last weekend myself, lovely race, rolling course, good atmosphere.
Full Marathon in Co. Meath on 24th October 2021.

We ran a half marathon on the course last Saturday and received some good feedback from competitors.
Does anyone have an up to date calendar of races until the years end?
Only seem to be able to get a vague picture from a mish mash of Lindies blog/Run Ireland, even Lindie seems to have thrown her hat on it for 2021 at this stage.
Streets of Galway 8k on October 24th
Anyone doing the Clontarf Half Marathon.
Didnt get a reminder about it and its sold out. Sad face.
Anyone from Donore?
Has the 5k been confirmed yet for early December?
Hoping for confirmation before the end of the month; will post when I hear anything concrete; date will be the first Saturday in December.
Streets of Kilkenny 5K is on in 2 weeks time if anyone is looking for a Friday night race.

Dungarvan 10 mile confirmed for early Feb, entries on sale next month. Be quick.
Just heard the OPW have granted permission for the DH Jingle Bells 5k to go ahead. Date will be December 4th and entries will be opening through Pop Up Races in due course.
The DH Jingle Bells 5k should be opening for entries via Pop Up Races today. For those familiar with this we will be reverting to the original route as this was slightly modified in 2019 due to roadworks in the Phoenix Park.
Judging by the interest in the Trim 10 Mile I expect the race will sell out pretty quick.
Had this forwarded around on WhatsApp this morning.
Registration open now
