Dublin were focused more on turning the screw than scoring points. Glad it came back to bite them in the arse.
If we want a level playing field it should absolutely happen and funding better distributed too. Let's not sugar coat the massive disadvantage a County like Mayo has vs Dublin.

Its been absolute dross to watch for years. System after system, talk about best players ever. Yes they had 5 or 6 top drawer players but the others fouled systematically and did very basic jobs in the system well. The latest lads just don't execute and unfortunately for them its the quality players that retired and left the journeymen who were found out badly this year

Congratulations to Mayo, 0-13 to 0-4 after half time showed how on top and how much they fully deserved to win that game.
As for Dublin, their regression was as clear as day with them. Their Leinster performances proved that and they no longer have the bench to turn things around for them.
I'd be disgusted with that display if I were a Dub fan. Not only were they tactically inept but the compete loss of discipline was awful to watch. Great champions who went down in total disgrace.

A word on Diarmuid O'Connor.
Hennelly had a free in the second half that he shanked to the right. Looked for all the world to be flying wide but O'Connor flung himself feet first to somehow keep the ball in. Mayo got a point directly from that. Had he just let it drift wide, Mayo would be out. Absolutely outstanding from him.
That ref favoured Dublin rather than Mayo.

That was impressive to be fair, very... what wasn’t was the Dublin player I forget who, who just made zero effort to do anything, took it for granted that it would go wide...I just remember thinking then ‘fück Mayo will win this’... I had zero confidence in Dublin after that.

Jesus, I thought this over at half time and went out for a long run. Just back in and the kids running down the drive to tell me Mayo won. Shocked and peeded off I didn’t bother to watch the second half. Delighted for Mayo.

Christ the 7 in a row really died with a whimper. A bit like Kilkenny in recent years in hurling, when things went wrong today there didn't seem to be any plan B, any leadership, any cool heads, they just fell completely flat on their arse. In the second half of normal time, they resorted to the dark arts and but for some shoddy refereeing and some very flakey mayo accuracy, they would have lost it in normal time.
I don't want to speculate too much but there's really been something off about the Dublin camp this year. We were told to ignore them limping through Leinster but had there been any kind of proper challenge from Meath or Kildare who knows what could have happened.

The passage of play by Dublin that led to the 45 for Mayo right at the end of normal time is the biggest act of self harm I’ve ever seen on a GAA field.
