They were dogmatic in calling a Waterford win over limerick in a match that ended up as a collectors item - a one sided hurling semi victory (for limerick)
He sure is. Has an uncanny knack of being able to capture time and place.
Twas a half ar*ed idea poorly told.
Imagine if rte gave more coverage to the rowers (living abroad I have no idea if they did or didn't) than kellie then you would have people saying its cause rowing is a posh sport and no cares about inner city dublin.
He should consider getting into TV or film scoring/soundtrack production - you’re right about the knack of picking just the right song even before the editing part
I saw all the love on twitter re. the Kellie audiobed. She even namechecked it when she was being interviewed at the airport. I didn't think it was all that good, I much prefer the Jimmy Magee one or the Rachael Blackmore one.
I will agree that Mark has a very good knack of picking out good music though to capture a specific mood.
What’s the background song on the liverpool audiobed? Kind of singer songwriter effort with a guitar being strummed?
The La’s ?
Cheers, somg title is looking glass
Jonathan Wilson's hot take for this season Premiership... Brighton might make mid-table.
That was funny.
I think the Richard Keys audio bed is criminally underrated and criminally under utilised. Use for show opening from now on ?
The annual Ken season preview on Arseblog podcast is out, always a good listen.
Soccer is not my sport. At all. But I could listen to Jonathan Wilson and Rory Smith talk about it all day.
I think they got under Wilson's skin a few times yesterday. It wasn't too serious of course but he remembered and quoted every word of what Rory Smith said to him about a "stream of nonsense", all very matey, but he still remembered every word. I think he was slightly affronted to be compared to Michael Cox as well, Cox has said a few times that he got his inspiration from Wilson.
I enjoyed the discussion. I don’t mind ridiculous opinions but hate the plamausing of ridiculous opinions and Rory, in particular, wasn’t having any tolerance of Wilson’s ridiculous opinion.
I didn’t really get the Cox thing. I took it as Wilson doesn’t like Cox which was a beef I was previously unaware of.
I doubt it's beef. I would imagine none of them would fancy being compared to the snootyness that Cox puts across when giving his opinion.
I did enjoy the scrap between Paul Flynn and Oisin.
Same. Paul Flynn very much came across as not caring about the club game at all though. Seen as he's not long out of the GPA, it makes sense, but still. Oisin had a valid point, it's very unfair on the club players in the counties affected..
One thing that I haven't seen addressed, and I got the impression they nearly went into it yesterday but didn't, is how did Covid get into the Tyrone camp to such numbers? Did they not have protocols in place to prevent this?
I enjoyed it too. Flynn showed his true colours in saying everyone (genral public) wants to see a good Tyrone v Kerry match and the club players affected need to suck it up. I'm not a club player but I do think they should be considered. 1 week delay is fair.
I agree with you there. It's not fair on the club players. There are probably 1000's of people that would be affected. Just in the way Murph alluded to, holidays planned around the club games.
Leonardo da Vinci and John Delaney in the same sentence.
Gotta love Ken.
Hate to say it lads, but I can imagine the Premier League being knocked off top billing Monday.
Really hope so!
Biggest sports story of the weekend.
There’s 37 more weeks for football to have its top billing on Monday
Sure we'll know Monday, if this place is filled with complaints!
I can imagine Dublin's biggest fan Ken being pretty defiant though.
God, a Fair View would be most welcome.
I'd love to know what Black Puddin O'Toole thought of that.
The time Ken woke up with a pound of sausages in his pocket because The Gooch sold him such a dummy he didn't know where he was and ended up in the local butcher's was either extremely memorable or I've gone crazy.
Well the biggest match of the weekend's premier league games is on today, so there's still the possibility of a lot more drama.
Unlike Hurling I personally find Gaelic football very slow and tough to watch, but I still tuned in to catch the last bit of yesterday's match after hearing about all the drama.
The gaa will be first up. It's a massive story in Irish sport. Plus the Tyrone stuff aswell. But surely there will be two pods on Monday anyway.
Hopefully with dublin gone paul flynn will be out the door after them - can't stand him on it and using the dublin players' nicknames.
I wonder why Andy Moran is not on it this year.
Believe he has his own podcast with some other ex player, could possibly be part of the 'Off the ball' stable if I recall correctly.
He has a podcast with Paddy Andrews on Off the Ball
Mike Quirke has finished with Laois, thought he was a good contributor.
They played the music the other day when he was talking , I really thought we were going to get another Fairview. Would love to hear a new one, they were hilarious.
