I could have sworn they advertised it being available up to July. Maybe the offer was too popular and they decided to cancel it?

You may be confusing with it the offer T&Cs, which stated the code had to be redeemed before 13 July 2020.

I'm pretty certain it said it had to be redeemed before 13th June! Checked to make sure so I wouldn't leave it too late myself.

I signed up last month for the free trial and I cancelled it immediately (you still get the full month), but they're sneaky.

I apparently signed up for Entertainment & Cinema through Electric Ireland Rewards, but when I cancelled the subscription it only cancelled Entertainment. I knew nothing until I got a bill for €15 a few days ago.

When you go you your account it says "cancelled" and you get an email and everything, so you just assume that you're good, but you might have to dig around a bit to find other subscriptions hidden away in a menu somewhere.
