Can anyone post a screenshot of it? I'm doing the hybrid and just curious what it looks like

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 552 ✭✭✭awsah

It's available on the ppc1 page of LS website, its way too long to screenshot, its a few a4 pages long

Has anyone received communication from the LS yet confirming admittance to PPC1 or even acknowledging receipt of the application?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 191 ✭✭neon123

I was talking to one of the ladies today in the LS regarding a different issue, but I asked what stage my app was at and she said it’s been looked at and all they await now is the FE1 results. She said this is the case for most of the applications but didn’t say when they would receive them. I was told they are working remotely so the process is running slower than usual, but when it is finalised we will receive and email with the relevant documents.

Yes they confirmed receipt of my application on 15th June and sent me my Indentures on 17th June which I returned signed on 22nd June. My registered Indentures were returned to me on Tuesday this week (20th July).

Has anyone been looking into accommodation in Dublin for Sept?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 354 ✭✭Wonderstruck

Have they actually confirmed it's 100% IRL? The Law Society are so disorganised I'd want it properly confirmed first! ;)

Best of luck in the accomadation search, ofc, if you're moving up and law society says it's IRL you'd better beat any rush of new college students moving up soon.

I’m holding off paying a deposit on anywhere until it’s 100% confirmed to be in person!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 aideenc18

It's confirmed as 3 days in person 2 days online. Timetable is up with core groups to be confirmed at the end of Aug.

Do we have to pick subjects or anything for PPC1?

Do you pay the fee when submitting your application or can you wait until November to pay it for the hybrid?

In relation to the hybrid has anyone any idea of the work load involved?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 aideenc18

Application fee of €840 has to be included with your application. The deadline for the payment of course fees is 23rd November '21 (with a late payment fee of €50.00 thereafter).

Maybe a silly question, but does anyone know what the dress code for Blackhall is? Like business casual?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 191 ✭✭neon123

Dress as you would in any other college course.

Is anyone else an access student? Is there anything else we need to do? I thought I remembered something that you still need to apply to SUSI for the grant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 287 ✭✭holliek

has there been any indication of when we’re finding out our groups etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 490 ✭✭Lallers96

Yeah you need to apply to susi or you won't get anything from the access programme. They pay the balance of whatever SUSI cover.

However SUSI doesn't recognise the Hybrid so I have no clue what I'm meant to do as I'm access + hybrid..

Thanks for the response. Have submitted my application to SUSI now so fingers crossed! That’s so unusual about the Hybrid course, very frustrating

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 490 ✭✭Lallers96

Yeah the access director Mr Ian Ryan (such a sound man) said that the Hybrid doesn't qualify for SUSI support. However as it says on the Access Programme page SUSI is a requirement, I'm unsure of what to do really. I only just got accepted on Friday last week in the Access Programme for PPC support so maybe in the acceptance letter it will detail what's next for me. I'll post here in case someone else is in the same boat as me.

Aye he's a sound lad alright! Hybrid isn't recognized as a full time course for some silly reason because it's online, so it's not eligible for SUSI. But Access will still cover most of it, and Hybrid students are asked to make a contribution of around €700 for PPC1 and €700 for PPC2 if doing them through the Hybrid! Anyone on Access who got sent details etc I believe that was all stated in one of the documents.

Hi guys, please PM me if anyone who is attending PPC1 this September is searching for accommodation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 354 ✭✭Wonderstruck

As everyone said dont waste your time applying to susi. You could try applying from the bursary for the 700 euro back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 287 ✭✭holliek

I think people were saying that SUSI doesn’t work for the hybrid programme, not to ignore it..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 490 ✭✭Lallers96

Yes SUSI doesn't recognise the Hybrid as a full time course so you're wasting your time filling out an application.

Has anybody gotten any update from the Law Society about results letters? I'm still waiting for mine and they've been months saying "IT issues" as their reason for not sending them out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 178 ✭✭channing90

    Well lads a few qs,

Who did people use as there references and was it only a few lines they wrote for each ref?

Also do you just send in your original birth cert or must copy it and get it certified?

Will your official college transcript do or does that need to be certified too?

Also do you need a form 2b if your doing the traineeship under a solicitor who also has another trainee starting at the same time?

    Thanks in advance.
