Anyone currently in GV able to confirm what PE sessions consist of and how often? I believe it is based upon CrossFit? I'm not a real gym attender and trying to prepare now so I don't struggle lol. My strength is cardio, not so much weights etc. Thanks in advance for any info.
Yes, it's an adapted form of CrossFit. The PE sessions are VERY intense and you are expected to complete a number of fixed workouts in your own time outside of PE sessions. If you usually focus on cardio, that's going to stand you in good stead.
Thank you for your response!
For your PCA warm up session- I'm guessing you get the attempt to try and pass it without being marked or how does it work?
they walk you around the course and you are allowed to do 2 sections at a time of it combined but not the full course and definitely no timing unfortunately. All watches need to be removed on the actual day also
Anyone going into GV September ?
I'm guessing if you pass your pca it's around another month wait for the medical and smt? Also are you told on the day you've passed or another dreaded email
i believe it’s a month in between if you pass and you’ll know on the day
7 week wait for me
Not good at all- seems to be slowing up now
It was a 7/8 week for me also and I was in one of the fast tracked groups
To be fair, many not on the "fast track" groups have caught up and even taken over those who were on those groups
I have a Sep start date
I’m waiting nearly 7/8 weeks now and still nothing.
emailed recruitment a few weeks back and got “will be in touch shortly with a date”
HI guys, quick question for those who have recently passed all psni managed stages, how long did it take for your smt test to come out? I am keen to get it asap because after this , i think i am appointable.
Anyone had vetting forms recently. Just wondering what they are up to as have not had mine.
Mine took about a week
I know my merit bracket is 750-800 and I was wondering will it be after august sept, last I heard they got as far as 550 that’s the last time someone posted on here about receiving their vetting papers. Nobody seems to be giving much away with regards to this.
Two weeks for me
I’m 600-650 and not had any correspondence since the email to tell me my merit list position
Thanks guys. roughly how long ago was that? I suspect that sms's might take a bit longer provided the summer season and that Randox are probably flooded with travellers' PCTs?
Thanks again xx
Approximately April time
I was in the 500-550 range and got mine end of June- so your group could be next up.
I’m sure this has been asked before but I can’t find it. Are the classes fairly small in GV? Just wondering how many folk are actually called each month.
Can anyone give an insight into what the induction day entails? Tips on what to bring/whatever would be appreciated! :)
Well folks a new week, maybe new emails. Here's hoping
Hi Paulo, from what i have heard so far, it is a lot of personal safety talks, uniform fitting and district allocation. Smart casual dress code. Bring a pen and a notepad and a mask :) That's more or less i think.
Hi, from what i have heard 30-35 people per intake roughly at present. Before Covid, it used to be around 50 per intake.
I Have my medical soon, I’m wondering has anyone who is appointable been called for an October date yet? I’m really hoping if I pass my medical that I’ll be going in for the OCT date. I’d imagine now once appointable the merit list comes in to play as above people have said fast track and non fast track are catching up on each other etc?
Would anyone have a number I can contact recruitment on?
