Pretty sure that it's a "driver only " box checked somewhere in the settings.
So I have a really stupid question. Why is it that when I unlock the car the passenger door doesn’t unlock and there seems to be no way to unlock it short of reaching across and physically pulling the latch? Is it a setting in the software or am I just doing something wrong? It’s doing my head in.
@[Deleted User] what's the status of your order, and what colour were you after?
My original (wrong) order Tour 5 is I believe close to arrival. Its completed semiconductor wise anyway.
If yours is still stuck in the eternal queue it might be worth having your dealer contact mine and transfer the commission number. Save you waiting maybe.
A Tour 5, hopefully its not missing a seat 😁
Trying to figure out the We Charge tiers. The way they are presented it would appear that the only advantages to paying for a monthly subscription over the free tier is that you get a lower rate on the Ionity chargers and save €0.30 per session on other chargers.
Am I missing something? Hardly seems like even the middle tier is worth it unless you’re using Ionity chargers very frequently.
What have you ordered?
Thanks Fits. Enjoy!
May 9th. A Tour in Moonstone Grey.
Good news. When did you order?
Is the smaller motor version ID3 coming here at all?
It's 143hp for the smaller one and 150kw/204hp for the bigger one isn't it?
Hopefully all the updates are done before car arrives now, so should be quick enough. Also grants etc should be sorted before car arrives..
Dealer said about a week after it arrives. And then it’s when we can get into them I guess.
Just so you know, the way I described it can happen the other way around too.
For example, I drove from Claregalway to Sligo today. The previous 3 trips in the car were on the motorway, so at 100% full the range was showing 307km. But because the drive to Sligo and back was at more modest speeds (I used ACC, so was at the limit where possible, but slowed for other traffic and towns), the range actual went up….
Started at 100%, with 307km showing. Round trip was 260km, so should have only shown 47km range by the time I got home. It actually showed 95km left. So I “gained” almost 50km because todays drive was at lower speeds than the most recent trips. So, the range is fine as long as your trips and speeds are fairly consistent. Drive much faster or much slower than recent trips, and the range indicator will seem inaccurate. You get used to it after a while, TBH, and you quickly get to the point where you know what the car can do without getting caught up in the numbers.
Mine took about a week, but can vary.
Mine should be on it too 😁 I wonder how long it takes to get a car after it arrives?
I think it really depends if you are going with the PCP plan or not. Also, some dealers are quoting vastly different prices for it too. I paid €399 for it but @Rusky rusky was quoted €599 I think.
My car is on the MV Patara 😀
It should actually be €1300 more now. Its the OTR charge and includes the basic service pack although you can request to remove that I think.
Your dealer is being a pure scab if they won't waive the OTR charge though.
Are people buying the extra insurance if you had to write off the car in the first 3 years? or is it a gimmick?
i bought what must be the very last new 1st MAx in the country ( or anywhere ) - white with 20 inch wheels.
thanks for the info. I'll check out customization of the home screen
I am considering ordering the ID3, after having contacted a dealer I found the prices quoted are higher (1k) than the VW website RRP. The dealer said the the difference is the price of shipping to Ireland. How much more have you paid then the RRP for your ID3?
Best of luck with car, enjoy. Colour and model?
The online bit at the start always comes up, but if you do nothing it vanishes fairly quickly. When you customise your home screen it makes life easier. Now that I am well used to the system I find it clear, easy to read and gives me all the info I want.
Swipe left to the middle screen view and then you can customise the tiles by long pressing on them.
lads, my ID3 turned up today. I am happy out with it ( although I only drove it for 20 mins ). I do find the infotainment system a little frustrating though. Is there a way I can have the screen with Map, radio and phone button just be the default page when I start up ?
Currently it gives me some sh*te about the car being online then moves to the Menu page with all the options - I just want the other page unless I am looking to do something.
Great thanks. Good to know!
It varies. It's based on recent trips, so if you drive it carefully it may say something like 380km range when fully charged......if you continue to drive it in the same way and in the same conditions, I've found the guess-o-meter to be quite accurate in our ID3 (especially compared to my 2015 LEAF).
However, if you drive it carefully for a couple of days and it shows 380km, but then drive the arse out of it, or do a motorway trip at 120kph, then the 380km shown initially will drop dramatically as you go along.
If you drive consistently, then the range shown is quite reliable.
How accurate is the KMs left reported by the car? Is it based on driving with no air con/eco mode on or does it take into consideration the current settings?
When I say the middle version I mean spec wise. All three specs are the same size I think.
This is the only picture I have saved, that is an A4 sheet so it is not a small unit.
I'll take one from the side if I can later.
The middle version of the VW charger? Would you mind taking a picture of it relative to something like a coke can for height and depth comparisons ? Im thinking of getting the same one, I don't see the advantage of the top teir one for a single home user and the bottom teir doesn't seem to have app/remote control.
I have the middle version of this but it is still in its box. The cost has gone up from 600 last year to 750 currently
