We could get rid of juries altogether. Many countries don't have them at all, some only require one judge, rather than the three-judge SCC.

Many countries have barely functioning legal systems and poor due process; you may even know of a few that engaged in such barbaric practices as internment without trial.
While I admittedly struggle with rejecting the principle of while understanding the (at least historic) requirement for the SCC, I don't think, 'well other countries don't do XYZ' is much of a justification for the reform of our legal system on its own.

I don't know where you are getting that idea from. There are very many countries that have no jury trials at all, the main reason being that jury trials are seen as being open to bias and discrimination.
What is funny about this discussion is that SF are desperate to cling on to one of the most English of traditions - a jury trial.
