Ocon was leading until Hamilton got behind Alonso for the few laps, then a lot of votes came in for Alonso (including mine) and he won.
Yeah the kind who whinges on the radio when the guy in front of him won't let him pass. Complaining about dangerous moves in corners, after what he did to Max is he having a fcuking laugh? The thing is, he isn't even saying it as a joke! He has no self awareness whatsoever. Took him long enough to get around 40 year old Alonso with a much faster car. I think Ocon won the race for himself by staying ahead of Seb tbh, he didn't put a foot wrong all race but according to you he "got lucky". Luck got him ahead it didn't keep him ahead.
How would the race restart if everyone pitting after the red flag?
The circumstances around the restart were hilarious, that had to be peak Mercedes. Without anyone on the team radio to tell him what to do, Hamilton is the only driver on the grid to misread the conditions, outsmarted by the likes of Tsunoda and Latifi.
Then post race he manages to try to blame the team by saying he told them on the radio that it was dry but they said rain was expected, even though that conversation couldn’t have happened since pit radio is not allowed on the formation lap.
Then when asked about it Toto Wolff tried to argue night is day and black is white by saying it was the right tactical call rather than criticise Lewis, before really pulling one out of the bag when further pushed by finding a way to pin the blame on Bottas and saying the poor tactics must have been karma for the crash he caused. You have to laugh!
In fairness to Hamilton it is hard to be in P1 coming around and be the one to decide to go in the pit, he is probably thinking if he did then others would stay out.
Also, he is more than likely suffering from long covid which makes his rise back to the top of of championship all the more remarkable.
Vettel has been disqualified from the race which is highly disappointing but looks like it was a pretty clear technical infringement so it was inevitable. The FIA really need to start looking at the rulebook though, we see nothing penalties for major infractions with huge repercussions and then huge penalties for much more minor technicalities, it makes it really hard to look at outcomes and think they are anything remotely close to fair.
Like Raikonnen getting ten seconds for taking out Mazepin in the pits? Or is it just one car in particular you want penalised?
Rules is rules and tough titty for Vettel/AM but yeah, the post-race stuff in F1 beyond silly. NASCAR, IndyCar, all the bike racing you see people doing donuts and burnouts, climbing the fence, all that good stuff. Hell in IndyCar you'll see people take the chequered flag with the car having already cut out.
Vettel DQ. Hamilton promoted to 2nd - he's the luckiest driver on the grid.

Why do they need atleast a litre of fuel at the end of the race?
Saw something on twitter to say Russell has same issue hence he stopped at the pit exit.
I think it's so they can test the fuel after th race.
Would any amount not do then? There's too many nonsense rules in F1

To test for illegal additives. It's basically like a urine sample from an athlete. If the athlete doesn't provide enough of a sample then they get disqualified.
Needs to be at the barrier limit which is a litre.
Obviously it's not safe to have cars running out of fuel on track either, so the rule means that they have some reserve
Any amount would not necessarily be enough. I don't know how the tests work, but I imagine they divide the sample into a few parts to do different tests. The rule about needing a full litre of fuel has been in for ages.
Did Vettel complete the in-lap? Sometimes they don't complete the in-lap to make sure they have fuel for testing.
This moves Williams further up. Amazingly lucky result for lots of drivers.
Thats a sickner for Vettel but its the same for everyone so Aston have no one to balme but themselves.

He had to hand the places back. He jumped people at pitlane exit because he was in the last pit stall.
They showed him actually overtaking Ocon coming up to the pit exit.
Ocon has been disqualified because his Alpine teammate, Alonso, was a big meanie and didn't let Hamilton pass him easily.

Aston Martin are saying that the FIA-mandated fuel flow equipment told them there was 1.7 litres remaining in the car, and they believe it is actually in there and that the pump used to extract it failed to pick it up, so they are appealing the decision. This is reminiscent of the time in 2014 I believe when the Red Bulls were disqualified because the fuel flow equipment the FIA supplied them with was giving inaccurate measurements, their appeal failed on that occasion so it will be interesting to see if we get the same thing here.
In all honesty, Vettel stood on that podium, sprayed the champagne, celebrated with the team, and Aston Martin have deep enough pockets that losing some points and finishing maybe P6 instead of P5 in the WCC isn't going to really materially impact them, so I think Vettel can be extremely proud of what he did at this race both on and off the track and that is the important thing.
I got a good chuckle out of Hamiltons radio messages during all of that. Something about moving and it was very high speed...yeah, we know how that goes, Lewis.
