Today must have been nice for Ger Cunningham too as the dubs seemed to hate him with a passion when he was manager
Tonight's result caps of a great week for Cork hurling.
Nice to be back in Croke Park for an AI semi for which we will be underdogs so the pressure will be off to some extent.
Rebels Abu.
U20 semi v Galway is likely to be Saturday in Thurles
Seniors v KK Croker, Sunday
Minor final v Waterford probably Thurles on Monday week.
The senior game being on sunday could be critical if you think about it. Its an extra day rather than being on the saturday so another day for recovery. Small thing but is a help to us.
Was just thinking of maybe a minor and senior hurling double...........Would be nice but a load of hurling before we are in with a chance of it!
very easy to see why Dublin teams are not liked and nothing to do with the management or lads on the pitch who were tough but fair. The lads in the stand are painful. The amount of drunk lads booing calling cork names and just screaming was worse then any soccer game I have been at. That nonsense might be standard for football but don’t see it much in hurling. I can guarantee even with the old rivalry between us and the cats next week it will be respectful. You defo won’t hear ye cork **** or ya Kilkenny ******. Yesterday felt like it could kick off at any stage. Any way we move on up the rebels
Very noticeable watching the football last night Offaly fans cheering Cork wides. Now there are gobshites in every county and we are no angels but I thought it was bad form, especially for an underage game.
Both sets of fans were at it unfortunate
Today in the All Ireland Minor A Championship Camogie
It finished Cork 3:19 Limerick 0:3
Looks like a lot of talent on the conveyor belt!
Cork ladies footballers are playing right now against Waterford in the All-Ireland 1/4 Final
Currently Cork 0-7 Waterford 0-4
You can watch below online
Half time and its Cork 0-10 Waterford 0-5
Scally looking very good on the ball today
Cork haven't scored yet in the second half. Awful decision making by the forwards. About 5 shots have dropped short. Waterford missed a goal chance too
0-10 to 0-7
Finished Cork 0-14 Waterford 0-8
Very poor performance from the ladies. At least 6 shots dropped short but just got over the line. Now into the semi finals but that performance won't be winning the All Ireland. Hopefully they will learn from this and improve the next day.
😂😁

Thank god Dublin are crap at hurling. It's bad enough them dominating in one code as it is, nevermind the two! 😁
Awful news.....
one of out u20 panel has covid so match is off.
Wonder what happens now? Will it be put down for another date?
"Cork GAA Statement:
A member of the Cork U20 Hurling group has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, all players and management have been deemed as close contacts by the HSE. Therefore, Cork will be unable to fulfill Saturday’s All Ireland U20 Final fixture at this time."
Hopefully "at this time" means we wont be conceding the game anyway
Are Cork being cute here?
A Cork U20 hurling player came on as a sub for his club team tonight and this game went ahead even with a Covid case in the opposition management....
It will have to be rescheduled, one week delay; it’s only August.
presumably won’t impact the senior semi as none of the 20s are on senior??? Or have one or two of them made the panel but not played a senior game yet so remain eligible?
Being cute? God no. Where is the advantage- Extra time off, yes, but they cannot train, so a disadvantage really.
What player came on? Was it before the news broke? I thought a club game would have been postponed as the player had an All Ireland final next weekend?
Anyone have any idea what they are doing with tickets. Will they go to the clubs first and then general sale if any left over
If Cork seniors lose to Kilkenny, Shane Barrett & Alan Connolly would be available to play in this u20 final.
The advantage here is huge, Cork are slight favourites as is, with these 2 senior players Cork will win well.
A Cork U20 player came on as a sub for Kanturk in club final in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday evening.
The County Board would have known about the Cork U20 Covid issue before the game started at 7pm.
I'm not buying that there's any cuteness behind it or they're looking for any advantage, the risks are too big and to suggest otherwise is poor form in my opinion. Just look at Sligo footballers last year who had to give a walkover in knock-out championship. And that was senior, if it can happen then it could definitely happen at Under 20 level. I presume this will affect their training for the next week too. Hopefully the young fella will be ok whatever about the hurling.
Will it have any affect on the Senior team? Surely a couple of those players are on the extended senior panel?
Didn't know 2 lads would be able to do that. Certainly would aid the U20's if they were available.

I don't think there's any cuteness either, but some will see it as such nonetheless.
The Sligo game was a knockout game though, apparently, as it is a final, the rules say a date change is an option.
Training would be the main issue, not training in the 2 weeks leading up to an All Ireland final is a serious disadvantage, but what can you do in these circumstances.
If Cork beat Kilkenny, the 2 lads are not available to the U20 team anyway, so it's hardly an advantage.
Tim O'Mahony has been voted this weeks GAA Hurler of the week
Tickets are on General Sale online on Ticketmaster, I'm hearing of long queues from the other threads though.
Got my tickets. Long queue on browser and then just got straight in on phone. Come on Rebels snap em up
@OfficialCorkGAA
The GAA have confirmed that the postponed All Ireland U20 Hurling Final between Cork and Galway has been re-fixed to take place on Tuesday, August 17th at 7.30pm in Semple Stadium Thurles.
I can't wait to see what the tin foil hat brigade here on boards make of that!!
