What's happening with cotton buds?
They're being banned together with other single-use plastics in order to reduce plastic pollution, if I remember the news story correctly.
I think it's an EU initiative but I'm not sure.
Are the bamboo/cardboard one allowed? I haven't seen plastic stems in a long time now that I think of it.
I'd have to dig out the news story to make sure, but from what I remember, biodegradable options are good to continue. It's just the plastic ones that are being targeted.

Freedom Day this week saw me on a very popular strand in South Kerry that I've never visited before. I have to be honest and say I dont know what all the fuss is about. Yes, I'm a typical Kerry individual who is spoiled for choice of beach and variety of scenery. At least I got a sea front stroll today and finally got to go there and scratch it off my list. Lunch was absolutely fantastic, outside at one of our best eateries. Most delicious gourmet burger I've ever had. It actually was a gourmet burger and not just a load of random toppings sloppily piled onto an average burger in a soggy bun.

Aldi ones have cardboard stems, I think you'll get the boots ones online.
I've seen bamboo ones from small home set ups, but they're very pricey for something you recycle after one use.
Eurogiant have Simply Soft , Eco Friendly , biodegradable ones for €1.50 Grem .

Household chores day today.
Did a laundry, vacuumed and mopped the floors, a partial deep clean of the bathroom and was planning to vacuum the car but I think I’ll leave it to tomorrow. Sweat is pouring off me - very muggy day today.

Funny cotton bud story here..a few years ago the bud part detached and got lost in my ear.
I was very embarrassed going to my GP to get her to fish it out 🤪
Always worried about the bud detaching, want something like an interdental brush but I know I'd poke too far.
Never put anything in to your ear smaller than your elbow....per Duvet's mam.
